Little Bear
littlebearla.com
1855 Industrial St
Los Angeles, CA 90021

Little Bear has been holding it down in the Arts District for the past couple of years, before real estate was being snatched up left, right, and center near Industrial Street. For those searching for smooth beers and savory bites, all they need to do is pass through Little Bear's apple red doors and pull up a seat at the bar. In addition to an extensive bottle list, there are plenty of Belgian beers on tap, foaming in all their glory. It goes without saying that the Belgian fries served with garlic aioli, Parmesan and truffle oil are oh so necessary. And if you're looking for a modern take on a Belgian classic, look no further than the Liege Waffle Burger, topped with a fried egg, bacon, sharp cheddar and a maple syrup drizzle.

If you have the privilege of talking with Chef Zadi, he'll proudly tell you that he is the only Algerian chef in Los Angeles. The veracity of his claim doesn’t matter because his incredible food paired with his undeniable charm will have you wishing you were in North Africa. The distinct flavors awaken the senses. He currently has pop ups in Blank Kitchen and various farmers markets around L.A. but rumor has it that he'll be opening up a brick and mortar in Downtown this fall. Don't miss his North African tacos and his Tunisian briks filled with traditional Algerian flavors.

Old Village

Glendale, CA 91204

Glendale is a culinary wonderland, with countless restaurants dedicated to the incredible flavors of kabob, shawarma, soujuk and falafel, to name a few. In the heart of the city is Old Village, serving up authentic Russian, Georgian, and Armenian cuisine. They have blinchiky, a thin Russian crepe wrapped around beef or chicken, and one of the most well known Russian dishes, borsch, is in full effect on their menu. But the pelmeni, Russian style dumplings filled with beef or chicken, are a must. Paired with mustard, vinegar or sour cream, these boiled beauts will only further encourage a dumpling addiction.

South Korea

The Corner Place

Los Angeles, CA 90006

Nestled inside a multi-purpose strip mall in bustling Koreatown, The Corner Place is an inviting Korean restaurant that could easily lure in any passerby just with the smell of it's tabletop BBQ. Aside from a variety of ready-to-grill meats such as bulgogi, kalbi and sliced bacon, there is one dish that you'll see on almost every table – dong chi mi guk su. That's cold noodle soup, and they serve up one of the best bowls in L.A. For a taste of traditional Korean food, order these ice-cold noodles paired with a tall bottle of Hite Beer. It is absolute perfection on a hot summer's day.
