CARSON, Calif. -- LA Galaxy goalkeeper Jaime Penedo has haunted Vancouer Whitecaps FC and he did so again on Saturday as he tallied four saves in LA's 1-0 win, but none was bigger than his stop of Kekuta Manneh which has been nominated for MLSsoccer.com's Save of the Week.

CARSON, Calif. -- LA Galaxy II suffered their very first loss of the club's existence on Sunday night with a 3-0 defeat to Sacramento Republic FC.

The defeat saw LA concede two goals in the first half from Mickey Daly and Max Alvarez before Dakota Collins added a third during the second half. With the loss, Los Dos fell to a 2-1-1 record in their first four matches of the season.

"It was an odd night," admitted LA Galaxy II head coach Curt Onalfo. "Every week is a different challenge. This week we had three players with the Academy and other guys getting their first appearances. We try to bring it together each week and it's always a different challenge. I didn't like how we came out in the first half, and even though we were down 2-0, I thought we came out well in the second half, we had a lot of possession. If you score then you get a game, but we gave up a poorly timed goal to make it 3-0. Overall, it was a difficult night and one that we have to look at thoroughly and just go back to the drawing board."

Where Galaxy II looked especially lackluster was in the attack as LA managed just three shots which were all taken in the last 20 minutes of the game. LA's misfiring offense wasn't the only low point as Los Dos lost a pair of players to injury with center back Bradley Diallo coming off with a cramp while left back Logan Emory suffered a sprained ankle.

Although the defeat was a difficult one to swallow for the Galaxy II boss, Onalfo admitted that it was a learning experience for his group.

"Listen, when we drew this thing up, we said if we won every game then we were doing something wrong," said Onalfo. "It's just a matter of finding consistency which for us is a difficult challenge because we have a roster of moving parts. Individually, we need guys to have better performances so we have to all look at ourselves and self reflect so we can learn from these experiences and move on."

Galaxy II will look to move on next Saturday when they host Orange County Blues in their final match of their five-game homestand at the StubHub Center Track and Field Stadium.
