CARSON, Calif. -- LA Galaxy defender Robbie Rogers was named to MLSsoccer.com's Team of the Week after an impressive performance against Columbus Crew SC last Saturday.
In his first start back from a left achillies injury, Rogers was a force along the left side of the field, frequently bombing down the wing to cause trouble for the Crew. The 27-year-old aided in the Galaxy's only goal of the game when his run up field saw the ball deflect off a Crew defender and fall perfectly for Sebastian Lletget for his first goal in a Galaxxy uniform. Rogers nearly scored a goal of his own just before the end of the half after making a strong down field only to see his shot go wide.
Omar Gonzalez was named to the squad's bench for his impressive showing in the Galaxy's draw.

MATCHUPS TO WATCH:
Kei Kamara vs. Omar Gonzalez
Gonzalez must keep an eye on Kamara throughout the cross of 90 minutes if the Galaxy are to pick up a win against Crew SC. Expect Kamara to challenge Gonzalez throughout the course of the match.
Baggio Husidic vs. Hector Jimenez
The former LA Galaxy winger has settled well as a right back for the Crew, and will look to press Husidic, and the left side of the Galaxy defense.
Fredrico Higuain vs. Juninho
One of the keys to silencing Kamara will be cutting down his service from Higuain. Look for Juninho to press the Argentine early and often to prevent him from influencing the match.
Columbus Crew SC 2 (Kamara 2), LA Galaxy 3 (Villarreal, Ishizaki, Gordon)
Robbie Keane went 17 minutes in the Republic of Ireland's 1-1 draw with Scotland in their 2016 Euro qualifier in Dublin on Saturday.

Keane was brought in around the 73rd minute to help the Irish pull ahead but the go-ahead goal never came.
With the result, the Irish are fourth in Group D with nine points after six games. The Republic of Ireland will resume qualifying in September with matches against Gibraltar on Sept. 4 in Portugal and Georgia on Sept. 7 in Dublin.
