The LA Galaxy stood pat during Wednesday's Stage Two of the MLS Re-Entry Draft Process as the Galaxy elected to pass.

Although LA did not make a move, there were several notable selections including Fabian Espindola being chosen by D.C. United and Canadian international Dwayne De Rosario returning to Toronto FC. Also chosen was former Galaxy forward Chad Barrett who will join LA’s Western Conference rival Seattle Sounders FC. Another one of LA’s chief rivals, the San Jose Earthquakes made a pair of selections as they chose defenders Shaun Francis and Brandon Barklage.

Not among those selected were LA’s entrants Colin Clark and Laurent Courtois, who are now free to join a team of their choosing.

There’s considerable talent on the board as MLS prepares for Stage Two of the 2013 MLS Re-Entry Process which will take place on Wednesday at 12pm PT.

During the Stage One of the MLS Re-Entry Draft, the LA Galaxy lost longtime right back Sean Franklin who was selected by D.C. United while Steve Zakuani (Portland Timbers), Bobby Boswell (D.C. United), Corben Bone (Philadelphia Union) and Marc Burch (Colorado Rapids) were also selected.

That amount of players available has been whittled down however, with several choosing to opt out in order to re-sign with their previous clubs or being dealt to other teams. Most notably, Kenny Cooper, Mauro Rosales and Bobby Convey were traded while players like Chris Rolfe, Andre Akpan and Logan Pause opted out with looks to return to their former clubs.

If a player is chosen in Stage Two, a club has seven days to make a bona fide offer to the selected individual, and if an agreement can’t be reached that club will have the right of first refusal for that player in MLS. Should a player not be chosen then they will be able to reach an agreement with the club of their choosing.

Prior to stage one, I evaluated several players who could be good fits for the Galaxy and while several have come off the board, former MLS MVPs David Ferreira and Dwayne De Rosario as well as New York Red Bulls forward Fabian Espindola remain the most talented players available. However with the Galaxy losing Sean Franklin, it would not be surprising to see LA go after depth at right back which makes players like Ugo Ihemelu, Brandon Barklage and James Riley intriguing choices.

The complete list of available players for stage two of the MLS Re-Entry Process are below:

Chicago Fire: D Shaun Francis, M Joel Lindpere, F Maicon Santos, M Wells Thompson*, M Michael Videira

Chivas USA: D Ante Jazic*, D Steve Purdy, M Josue Soto

It appears that LA Galaxy assistant coach Curt Onalfo will not be departing for Chivas USA after all.

According to ESPN FC’s Jeff Carlisle—who initially reported the link—Onalfo pulled himself out of the running for the Rojiblancos head coaching job after he and Chivas “were unable to come to an agreement.”

Onalfo has been a member of Bruce Arena’s coaching staff since January 2011.

Landon Donovan is king of the internet, well, kind of.

Donovan finished at the top of a list of the 10 most searched soccer players by Americans on Google in 2013. The LA Galaxy forward was a hot topic throughout the year for American soccer fans whether it was his early season break from soccer, his resurgence at the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup, a multi-year contract extension with the Galaxy or his end of the year explosion on social media. Add it all together and there’s little surprise that he finished on top of this list of U.S. based searches.

Four MLS teams were among the top soccer clubs searched in 2013:  Portland Timbers (No. 4), Philadelphia Union (No. 5), Real Salt Lake (No. 6), FC Dallas (No. 7), Columbus Crew (No. 9), and Houston Dynamo (No. 10)

Fresh off a titanic week that saw him score goals against the likes of Portugal, England and Brazil, LA Galaxy Academy forward Haji Wright may be off to Europe.

According to Top Drawer Soccer's Travis Clark, Wright has hired an agent who is shopping the young forward to unnamed clubs in Germany. The reports come following Wright's banner performance scoring five goals as the U.S. Under-17's won the Nike International Friendlies last week with wins over England and Brazil

Although the potential move does throw into question Wright's future with the Galaxy, it bares mentioning that the forward's status is by no means set in stone at the moment as no clubs have been identified as possible destinations for Wright.

LA Galaxy forard Landon Donovan's stunning goal for the U.S. National Team against Algeria at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa is in the final of U.S. Soccer's Best of 100 Years awards.

Donovan's incredible last minute finish that gave the U.S. a 2-1 victory over Algeria is up against Abby Wambach's dramatic stoppage time goal that tied up the Americans World Cup quarterfinal match against Brazil.

CARSON, Calif. – Any chance for LA Galaxy to acquire Seattle Sounders FC forward Eddie Johnson is a “long shot” according to Club President Chris Klein.

A report in the Washington Post on Saturday stated that the Galaxy were among three teams (D.C. United and Chivas USA being the others) interested in Johnson, who scored nine goals and two assists during a tumultuous 2013 season for Seattle. The rumor comes amid statements from LA head coach and general manager Bruce Arena and Klein himself, that the Galaxy are interested in acquiring a target forward ahead of the 2014 season.

During a town hall forum with Landon Donovan during the club’s “Meet Your Seat” event on Sunday, Klein responded to the rumors.

“The rumors are out that we’re interested in him… it’s an odd thing, but he will not be back in Seattle, we know that for sure. Eddie’s a player that has done great things, he’s scored a lot of goals and he’s part of the national team,” Klein said. “I don’t want to say that we’re not interested in Eddie, but I think that it will be a longshot for him to be in a Galaxy uniform come 2014. However, we’re always looking for players who can add to what [our team does]. We’ll always be in the market."

Klein also noted that the Galaxy will have Marcelo Sarvas and Juninho returning for 2014 stating that the club feels “good about what they have” in central midfield which includes Baggio Husidic who was signed last month.

Thoughts on Klein’s statements on the Eddie Johnson rumors? Happy Sarvas is likely returning?

To prepare for the holiday season, I've compiled a list of interesting holiday items that you can buy for you or any other LA Galaxy or soccer fan in the family.

Check it out below.

LA GALAXY HOLIDAY BUNDLE

PRICE: $49.06

Perhaps the Galaxy's most impressive and extensive package for the holidays is this set of a galaxy t-shirt, scarf and Christmas tree ornaments . For my money, the tree ornaments might be the best bunch because after all who doesn't love kitschy Christmas tree decorations?

LA GALAXY HOLIDAY PACK

PRICE: Starting at $84

Don't forget the actual gift of an LA Galaxy game, of course. In the Holiday Pack, you can get four tickets to the home opener against Real Salt Lake and two LA Galaxy beanies.

GALAXY ORIGINALS QUASAR PRINT SHORTS

PRICE $75

Adidas sent me these shorts and the rest of the Galaxy Originals collection earlier this year and these shorts are certainly one of the best items included. Yes, they’re a bit pricy, but they’re a cool and subtle way to support the team plus they’re undoubtedly comfy.

LOS ANGELES AZTECS BUMPY PITCH SHIRT

PRICE: $30

Bumpy Pitch has created a number of qualify soccer lifestyle gear but my favorite is their black Los Angeles Aztecs shirt. The tee is high quality, fashionable and not to mention comfortable while also providing a tribute to the second most storied soccer team to ever play in Los Angeles. I’m happy to admit that I own this – and many other BP products – and it is in my regular rotation.

GALAXIANS T-SHIRT

PRICE: $20

The list would not be complete without some gear from the LA Galaxy’s supporters groups and this yellow t-shirt from the club’s oldest supporters group, the Galaxians is a must have no matter what SG you have. Anyone that appreciates retro yet modern soccer clothing will need to cop this shirt.

ANGEL CITY BRIGADE TOTE BAG

PRICE: $5

If bright yellow isn’t your scene, then take a look at this Angel City Brigade tote bag that has a variety of uses from hauling clothes or hauling groceries.  Remember that the proceeds from this item and the Galaxians shirt go directly to the SG’s as they look to add to the StubHub Center experience.

LA GALAXY JERSEY ART PRINT

PRICE: Mini $18 – X-Large $66

Jerry Seinfeld broke down sports fandom once stating that fans simply “cheer for clothes” and this is captured beautifully in my favorite piece of this list, an art print by Mark Yesilevskiy. The print of the LA Galaxy home jersey preparing to take a free kick is a must have for all Galaxy supporters. If you enjoy other teams, Yesilevskiy has a number of other options as well.

LANDON DONOVAN ART PRINT

PRICE:$35 - $75

Sticking with the theme of soccer art, how about a look at this fine Landon Donovan print of his celebration during the 2012 MLS Cup victory. At the price of $35 it is an affordable gift that would for well with any soccer themed decor.

LA GALAXY THIRD KIT REPLICA

PRICE: $79.99

What do I think of the LA Galaxy third kit? You already know that Adam Serrano likes this. After all with the slick color scheme and the subtle homage to the Galaxy's first kit and the city of Los Angeles...what's not to like?

FOOSEBALL BOTTLE OPENERS

PRICE: $48.00

Last but certainly not least are these Foosball bottle openers. At nearly 50 dollars, they’re a bit pricey, but anyone who grew up playing Foosball like I did would respect the novelty. After all, can you imagine pulling one of these little dudes out at a party?
