Everyone is rushing to honor Landon Donovan ahead of his final cap for the U.S. National Team and the latest to the party is the soccer website Soccerly.
In the stunning graphic below, Soccerly designer Shio created a composite of all the USMNT jerseys that Donovan wore during his 15 years with the national team.

PASADENA, Calif. – Manchester United have been in Los Angeles for less than a week, but on Tuesday they received a true Southern California experience—getting stuck in rush hour traffic.
United were 45 minutes for their open training session at the Rose Bowl Stadium as their team bus found itself stuck in L.A. traffic driving from their base hotel in Beverly Hills in Pasadena. Despite the inconvenience, United manager Louis van Gaal was chipper upon his team’s arrival at the stadium’s press room.
“Of course, we were late. It was the first time that I was late for a press conference, but Los Angeles traffic,” van Gaal told reporters.
On Wednesday, the Dutchman and his side will face a stiffer test when they take on the Galaxy in the Chevrolet Cup at the world-famous Pasadena venue. Although Europeans are traditionally criticized for their blasé attitude toward friendlies with MLS sides, van Gaal insists that he’s done his homework on the Galaxy.
“We have analyzed the Galaxy and I expect a very organized and technical team that is aggressive in attack,” said van Gaal. “They are already in the rhythm of the season and we started just three days ago. We are not well prepared, we are not fit yet, but I hope that we can give a good performance and it’s a process.
“The preparation time is a process, so I hope that we can make every [preseason] match a step in that progress, but I'm also anxious to see how we do it tomorrow against the Galaxy.”
Is MLS on the way to Miami?
Former LA Galaxy midfielder and world soccer legend David Beckham is set to deliver a special announcement on Wednesday on the state of a potential new expansion club in Miami, Florida.
Watch the announcement in the video below and feel free to comment on the proceedings.
During MLS Commissioner Don Garber’s State of the League address on Tuesday, former LA Galaxy midfielder David Beckham’s interest in installing an MLS expansion team in Miami was undoubtedly a hot button topic.
Beckham’s connection to Miami has been reported since he retired from soccer earlier this year, but talk has been heating up as of late. While Miami was mentioned along with Atlanta, Minneapolis and San Antonio as possible MLS expansion locations, Garber admitted that it was far from finished.
“There’s a lot of work that needs to happen … We can’t go to Miami without the right stadium solution. David understands that. The city understands that. That’s an indisputable fact. We can’t have different rules in Miami that we have in any other city,” Garber said during the event. “We want to do as much as we can to work with David and [his business manager] Simon Fuller to get something done as quickly as we can.”
Garber continued: “We are very excited about the opportunity of having David put together an ownership group and finalizing a stadium site in downtown Miami so that we can end up having what we hope will be our 22nd team in a city that is one of the largest in the country and has a very strong, passionate fan base but there is a lot of word that needs to happen," Garber said. "Part of that is continuing the discussions that the ownership group has been having with the city and the [Port of Miami] site and potentially other sites."
Although reports have stated that Beckham is looking to get a deal done by years end, based on Garber’s comments, any announcement seems to be a work in progress at the moment.
So I leave the question to you…will David Beckham get an MLS team in Miami?

One year ago today, the LA Galaxy lifted their fourth MLS Cup trophy with a come from behind 3-1 victory over the Houston Dynamo on a rainy afternoon at The Home Depot Center.
Like LA's title winning performance in 2011, the match was a rain soaked one as a December shower descended upon Carson just before kick off and like the year before, I was stationed high above the field on the roof at The Home Depot Center. The match was the finest performance of the year for Omar Gonzalez, who had endured a difficult year recovering from knee surgery only to put in a dominating performance en route to winning the 2012 MLS Cup MVP award, due to his game-tying goal in the 60th minute that kick started a Galaxy rally.
However, there was also a sense of finality about the Galaxy's accomplishment as the match served as the final game in a Galaxy uniform for David Beckham ending his six-year tenure with the club. When Beckham exited the field just moments before full time, he was given a rousing cheer from the capacity crowd at StubHub Center. Beckham wasn't the only established player that moved on after that match as winger Christian Wilhemsson and goalkeeper Josh Saunders each parted ways with the club after the game.
Earlier on Sunday, I asked Galaxy fans for their memories of that match and had to give a special mention to Raul Pena and his wife Vanessa, who went to attended the match having just completed their wedding ceremony.

Good Morning from Portland, Folks...
I'll have updates from training today as we start to turn the focus to the Vancouver Whitecaps. (Wednesday, 7pm PT, KDOC, KWHY, 1330 AM, lagalaxy.com/gamedaylive) But I'll start you with this image of David Beckham with his ESPY award for Best MLS Player. After the award show on Thursday, Beckham was presented with his ESPY on Friday before training.
It was the first time that Beckham had earned the award, breaking a streak of three straight victories for Landon Donovan. In fact, since the awards inception in 2006, the ESPY for Best MLS Player has only been awarded to Donovan (2006, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011) or Beckham (2008, 2012)
Much more to come later today...
