CARSON, Calif. – After missing the last two matches, Edson Buddle is aiming to return to the LA Galaxy’s game day squad for their upcoming match against the New York Red Bulls.

Buddle has missed the last two games due to a hamstring injury but the 33-year-old forward was back at training on Monday hopeful that he can be in contention for LA’s upcoming trip to New York.

“My fitness is going alright. It’s hard to replicate the games but I felt good in training today. I’m with happy with where I am,” Buddle who has made just three appearances this season, told LA Galaxy Insider. “The thing is, once I feel good, I want to keep doing more and more. I just need to respect my injury and ease into things rather than think I’m 100 percent.”

With the Galaxy returning to his home state of New York, Buddle promises that he’ll do what he can get on the squad for this week’s match against New York Red Bulls.

“I’m going to train hard regardless but I’ll respect the injury.”

CARSON, Calif. -- LA Galaxy defender Dan Gargan was named to MLSsoccer.com's Team of the Week for week 7 of the 2015 MLS Regular Season.

The right back went 90 minutes in the Galaxy's 2-1 victory over Sporting Kansas City. Solid defensively after a hiccup on Krisztián Németh's goal, Gargan put forth yet another strong showing in his second consecutive start.

The complete Team of the Week squad is below.

CARSON, Calif. -- LA Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena spoke to reporters after the club's 2-1 victory.

Arena's comments are below.

(On the game...)

ARENA: "When you play hard and hang in there, once in a while you get a little bit lucky and the ball bounces your way. We’ve been on the short end of those a few times. I think things balance out. I think our second half we played better. We were much more aggressive, competed a little bit better, our game was a little bit better. On the night I think we played well considering a little bit of a makeshift lineup. I’m real pleased with our players. We’ve played two games in a row without Robbie Keane, and tonight not starting with Omar [Gonzalez] and Gyasi [Zardes] and getting a result is very impress.”

(On Bradford Jamison’s first start...)

ARENA: “A player who played with a lot of convinced. He was aggressive. We told him that when in doubt run. His pace, I think, was a factor in the game. We lacked a little of speed, so having him in the lineup was important. At the end of the game, him and Gyasi, they were threats. They put Kansas City on their heels at times. It was a pretty impressive game for him.”

(On the team’s performance...)

ARENA: “I think we did good. This league is a unique league in the fact that every game is a battle. Teams are pretty even in MLS. Any time you win a game, you have to take it, especially when it’s against a good team like Sporting Kansas City. It’s obviously a great result. We were a little bit fortunate at the end, but I think we played really hard. We conditioned ourselves to get a break. We put a lot of pressure on them in the last ten, fifteen minutes and we were lucky that the ball bounced our way.”

(On Tommy Meyer’s performance...)

ARENA: “He did a good job. I think, their goal we made a few mistakes. But on the night, I don’t think Jaime [Penedo] was tested a whole lot. I could be wrong, but there were a couple of saves that he had to come off his line. He jumped on some balls. He played behind our line. For the most part, I think we did a good job. They are a good team. The combination of Dwyer up top and Espinoza and Feilhaber—it’s a good trio of players and they are dangerous. I think for the most part we did a good job.”

(On if Zardes and Gonzalez provided a spark off the bench...)

ARENA: "A spark? Well, Gyasi did well, and Omar scored the winning goal, if you want to call that a spark or whatever, then you can. I think they contributed greatly tonight."

CARSON, Calif. – The LA Galaxy have dealt with the injury bug over the last several weeks, and now head coach Bruce Arena will have to evaluate the statuses of returning internationals Omar Gonzalez and Gyasi Zardes ahead of the weekend clash with Sporting Kansas City .

The Galaxy duo both went a full 90 minutes in the U.S. National Team’s 2-0 victory over archrival Mexico in San Antonio on Wednesday. Both players returned to Southern California on Thursday but according to Arena, he’ll have some thinking to do when he decides whether to slot the pair in the starting lineup for the match with Sporting.

“We have players that have been injured over the last two or three weeks, going to likely return. Jose Villarreal, Robbie Keane is a possibility, Mika Vayaynen is a possibility, AJ DeLaGarza is coming back from a slight injury, Edson Buddle’s probably going to be available. A number of players. That makes for a good week," Arena told reporters on Thrusday. "However, we have to be cautious with players that played with the U.S. team last night. That will be their third game in a week. We gotta make a decision on whether they’re going to be involved with our team on Saturday.”

Like many, Arena did not take too much from the Americans latest 2-0 win over Mexico, remarking that the pitiful field conditions took away from the overall product.

“I don’t think it’s a game you could say a whole lot about," Arena said. "The playing conditions were so poor, Mexico put out a good team that certainly is not their team. I don’t know what you make out of that. On the night the US was certainly the better team and deserved to win.”

Everyone at Time Warner Cable SportsNet is getting in the LA Galaxy frame of mine, including Los Angeles Lakers legend James Worthy.

On Sunday, following the Lakers' 59th loss of the season, Worthy joined TWCSN host Jamie Maggio with a little signature goal call of his own as Maggio read the highlight of Alan Gordon's finish. Does Worthy have the chops to give Joe Tutino a run for his money? I'll let you decide in the video above.

I'll say this to Big Game James, if you're up to it, why not join Pete Vagenas and myself for Rapid Fire Tweets starting next week against Sporting KC?

Should Worthy join the Galaxy telecast? Share your thoughts below.

CARSON, Calif. -- LA Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena addressed the media after the Galaxy's 1-0 victory over Seattle Sounders FC on Sunday.

His comments are below.

(On the play of Jaime Penedo...)

ARENA: He had an excellent performance today. Real big saves in the first half, got off his line well on a couple of occasions in the second half. Made some big saves, played very well. Stefan Frei made some important saves as well. The goalkeepers played well today for both teams.

(On Rafael Garcia's showing...)

ARENA: "He played very well. I don’t know how much he’s played with us in the past, but he put in an excellent shift today. A very good night. He’s been with us a number of years now, so he’s quite capable of stepping in and performing.

(On Jaime Penedo stepping up...)

ARENA: "His stepping up today was critical. Leonardo has been out, Robbie’s not in today, Jose and Mika didn’t train all week. We were really short-handed and guys stepped up. Gordon was a real man today. Obviously the winning goal, played strong the entire 90 minutes. I think he played quite well. You gotta win these kinds of games. It won’t go down as a classic by any means, but you have to grind it out and we got a critical three points."

(On the team's depth...)

ARENA: "We were a little thin in the week, the concentration and commitment by our team today was excellent. It’s great to get three points."

(On the status of Robbie Keane...)

ARENA: "Keane should be ready next week."

(On when he knew Keane would miss the Seattle game...)

ARENA: "Saturday in Vancouver."

MATCHUPS TO WATCH:

Omar Gonzalez vs. Clint Dempsey

A match of U.S. National Team stars, Dempsey's movement and partnership with Obafemi Martins will look to cause trouble for Gonzalez. Positioning will be key for Gonzalez and the Galaxy defense to keep the Sounders at bay.

Juninho vs. Osvaldo Alonso

In a battle between two of the best defensive midfielders in MLS, both will look to set the tempo and spark their offense forward.

Stefan Ishizaki vs. Dylan Remick

As the LA Galaxy look to generate offense, look for Bruce Arena's men to lean on Ishizaki as he faces off against the second-year MLS defender out of Brown.

THEY SAID IT:

"Those two guys up front are really good. You can have two really good guys up there but if they don’t have that connection and play well up there, it’s just two really good players. These two it’s almost like they have Sonar and they exactly where each other are at all times. They’re always dangerous."

- Stefan Ishizaki on the Sounders forward partnership of Clint Dempsey and Obafemi Martins

PREDICTION:

Galaxy 2 (Husidic, Gonzalez) Seattle 1 (Dempsey)
