Galaxy academy sides earn pair of victories in day one of GA Cup

The LA Galaxy U15 and U17 sides have gotten off to a flying start at the Generation Adidas Cup. 

In the Academy's first match, the U15s scored a dominating 2-0 victory over the Philadelphia Union U15s with Elan Koenig and Adrian Vera bagging the goals. The U15s return to action on Saturday at 2pm against the Colorado Rapids.

Meanwhile, U.S. U-17 World Cup veteran Justin Dhillion scored a late goal to help the Galaxy U17s erase a late deficit to draw TFC 1-1. However, due to a rule that requires all GA Cup games end in a result, the Galaxy picked up a victory by winning a penalty kick shootout 4-3 with goalkeeper Daniil Slepukhin making a pair of saves. The U17s return to action on Saturday against D.C. United at 8pm.
