LA Galaxy and U.S. National Team forward Landon Donovan will have an opportunity this Summer to add another trophy to already full awards case -- and I'm not talking about the World Cup.

Donovan was nominated on Wednesday for a Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Sports Award for "Sickest Moves." The Galaxy forward who is preparing for his final World Cup is nominated along with NHL stars Sidney Crosby and Alexander Ovechkin, Los Angeles Clippers teammates Blake Griffin and Chris Paul, NFL running back Adrian Peterson as well as soccer stars like USWNT forward Alex Morgan and FC Barcelona's Lionel Messi.

Voting for the award begins on June 12 and can be done on Nick.com/sports.

Think LD gets the victory? Are his moves truly "sicker" than Messi's?

Lost in the talk of LA Galaxy attacker Raul Mendiola’s MLS debut during last Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to the Houston Dynamo was yet another 2014 debut—the first appearance of LA midfielder Robbie Rogers.

After being sidelined with a stress reaction during preseason, Rogers made several appearances for LA Galaxy II before making his 2014 MLS debut in the Galaxy’s 1-0 defeat to the Houston Dynamo last Saturday.

During his brief 25 minute shift, Rogers was solid as he made several probing runs while trying to test the Houston defense.  Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena is quick to note that Rogers is by no means at full fitness, but the improvement is quite apparent in the eyes of the midfielder.

"Everything is a step, definitely, and I feel like I've been improving," said Rogers, who is expected to be available for Wednesday's clash with FC Dallas. "We have two big games at home coming up, and we need to get points and we need to make StubHub Center a fortress. Hopefully, I can contribute."

The LA Galaxy haven't had the best of luck from the penalty spot as of late, but is it time for the team to make a change?

During LA's 1-0 loss to the Colorado Rapids, Galaxy captain Robbie Keane missed his second penalty kick of the season -- the last also resulting in a 1-0 defeat to Real Salt Lake on March 8 -- which led to considerable chatter on social media about whether or not the Irishman should keep his position as the team's primary penalty taker. It bears mentioning that Keane took the role from Landon Donovan a year ago after the U.S. international missed two penalties in games that ended in 1-0 defeats.

Following training on Thursday, Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena told reporters that he has faith in both players to finish their next opportunity, but he wouldn't say who will be taking the spot kicks from here on out.

"I think those two are the best penalty kick takers in the league, but whoever grabs that ball and wants it can have it," said Arena. "Odds are they’re not going to miss too many of those from here on in."

Now that Arena has chimed in, who do you believe should take the penalties going forward for the Galaxy?
