CARSON, Calif. – Landon Donovan is scheduled to be back in the fold for the LA Galaxy after appearing in Friday’s U.S. National Team match against Ecuador, but could Omar Gonzalez also be back in the lineup for the FC Dallas match?

According to Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena, the final decision will be left to U.S. head coach Jurgen Klinsmann on whether or not Gonzalez will rejoin the Galaxy or stay with the U.S. for their Oct. 14 friendly against Honduras in Florida.

“The decision will be made by the coach and what he thinks is in the best interest of his team and everything that he needs to do,” said Arena. “This is not an easy situation for a national team coach when he can’t rely on the domestic players because of the league. It’s not easy on anyone so he doesn’t need to be bugged by me during the week. It’s an awkward situation for everyone.

“It’s difficult on a national team coach and the best way to [fix the problem] would be to honor international dates if we can get to that point with our league, so that it doesn’t become such a challenge for everybody to make it work”

CARSON, Calif. –Landon Donovan will take the field for a final time for the U.S. National Team this Friday against Ecuador and according to the Galaxy great, it couldn’t have happened without the influence of U.S. Soccer president Sunil Gulati.

Donovan was named captain for the match on Tuesday by U.S. head coach Jurgen Klinsmann, but the 32-year-old forward told reporters that he has yet to speak to the national team boss ahead of the game.  While Donovan’s relationship with Klinsmann has been noticeably frosty since he was excluded from the U.S. squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup,

“I give Sunil a lot of credit for making the effort to make this happen. He made sure that this was going to happen and I’m glad that he did. I wasn’t sure at first, but he did a good job of making sure that it all came together. I’m sure that it’s going to be a terrific event and I’m very excited.”

And when asked if his USMNT swansong would not have happened without Gulati’s sway, Donovan's answer was revealing.

“I don’t know for sure,” admitted Donovan. “But I’d say that’s a safe assumption.”

CARSON, Calif. -- LA Galaxy striker Landon Donovan will serve as the captain for his final U.S. National Team match which will take place this Friday against Ecuador in Hartford, Connecticut.

The match against Ecuador will help Donovan close out an impressive international career that included 157 caps and 57 goals as well as three World Cup appearances. Donovan will depart for Hartford on Thursday ahead of the game against Ecuador where he expects to have a ceiling on his minutes ahead of Sunday's Galaxy match against FC Dallas.

"I'm guessing I'll play 20 to 30 minutes," said Donovan.

The LA Galaxy announced two players called up to their respective international sides on Monday as Landon Donovan and Omar Gonzalez (United States) joined Robbie Keane (Republic of Ireland) on national team duty, joining Landon Donovan, who was named to the U.S. squad last month.

Donovan will take the field for a final time in a U.S. National Team on Oct. 10 against Ecuador in Hartford, Connecticut and then rejoin the Galaxy ahead of their match against FC Dallas next Sunday. Meanwhile, Gonzalez will join the long-time USMNT star for the Hartford match, but there was no word on whether he'll play against Honduras in Boca Raton, Florida on Oct. 14.

While the U.S. play in a series of friendlies, Keane will join a Republic of Ireland squad for a pair of qualifying matches for the 2016 European Championships. First, Ireland will host European newcomers Gibraltar on Oct. 10 in Dublin before taking on 2014 World Cup champion Germany in Gelsenkirchen on Oct. 14.

Keane's call-up means that the Galaxy will be quite shorthanded heading into their match against FC Dallas next weekend. In addition to missing their captain, they'll already be without Marcelo Sarvas due to yellow card accumulation while defenders Dan Gargan (left ankle sprain) and Robbie Rogers (left hamstring) are each dealing with injuries and remain in question.

Omar Alejandro Gonzalez has excelled on the soccer field, but now he's looking to extend his reach to the film industry with his directorial debut in "Every Dog Has Its Day."

The defender turned director released his venture into filmmaking on Sunday with a adventure film detailing the trip of six friends to an unknown land. The brief film is a true tour de force. In EDHID, we get a chance to see Omar Alejandro's skills at not only piloting a DJII drone helicopter, but also several miles of rich Rancho Palos Verdes coastline.

Omar Alejandro displays a unique talent for incorporating Mother Nature into the story line while also interspersing several exciting cameos like LA Galaxy midfielder Baggio Husidic and man on a boat. It's no surprise that Omar Alejandro's work has already earned selection into the "Brendan Hannan Film Festival" and the coveted "ACB Choice" award.

All in all, the film is a triumph for Supporters' Shield films and has to be awarded FOUR paws up.
