LA Galaxy Homegrown Player Oscar Sorto started and went 90 minutes as the U.S. Under-23's fell 3-0 to their counterparts from Brazil on Monday evening in Brasilia.
The 20-year-old Galaxy defender was solid in defense for the USMNT U-23’s and nearly helped set up an equalizer in the second half with a dangerous cross that was ultimately flubbed by former Galaxy Academy forward Mario Rodriguez.
Although the Americans had their chances, the Brazilians dominated from start to finish even going ahead after just three minutes when center back Luan beat U.S. goalkeeper Cody Cropper. The Brazilians then padded their lead with two goals in the second half as Brazilian youngsters Douglas and Vinicius scored.

LA Galaxy midfielder Stefan Ishizaki was nominated for MLSsoccer.com’s Goal of the Week for his impressive chip shot in the club’s 2-1 defeat to FC Dallas on Sunday.
The goal came in the 22nd minute when off a failed clearance, Ishizaki chipped an out of position Chris Seitz to give LA an early lead that they could not maintain. The Swedish midfielder now has five goals on the season in his first year in MLS.
“It was a cross that they headed out to me and I took a good first touch,” Ishizaki said recalling the goal. “but I had two guys rushing me so I couldn't shoot it. I took a touch past those two guys and I saw the goal was open so I chipped it and it went in.”

-LA needs a win to clinch Supporters’ Shield in Seattle. A draw or a loss allows Seattle to clinch the Supporters’ Shield.
*If the LA Galaxy lose to Seattle Sounders FC on Sunday
-Seattle clinches the Supporters’ Shield regardless of the result on Saturday based on the wins tiebreaker.
FRISCO, Texas. -- LA Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena addressed reporters after the club's 2-1 defeat to FC Dallas.
The loss saw the Galaxy's 10 game unbeaten run come to an end.
Arena's thoughts are below.
On what part of the game the Galaxy lost control…
ARENA: "We didn’t lose control of the game, we lost the game. We actually had a lot of control in the second half at times. It’s the sloppy play at the end of the game that makes the difference. We didn’t execute over a simple throw-in play."
On the several opportunities that the team had to pull ahead...
ARENA: "We had some chances. Didn’t get it done."
On going into the two Seattle games needing four points to win the Supporters' Shield...
ARENA: "That's fine. We know what is ahead of us."
On if the loss was a learning experience for the Galaxy...
ARENA: "It's not a learning experience, they should have learned this a long time ago."
FRISCO, Texas -- The LA Galaxy will look to extend their unbeaten run to 11 games when they face FC Dallas at Toyota Stadium on Sunday.
