On Thursday, April 21st, the Los Angeles Galaxy Foundation and The Home Depot Center Charitable Foundation hosted its 5th annual Easter Egg Hunt at The Home Depot Center that celebrated Easter and Earth Day.
More than 600 children were registered for the event which featured appearances by Galaxy defenders Todd Dunivant and Sean Franklin, Miss LA Galaxy Court, Cozmo, Pollo Campero Mascot Pollito and of course the Easter Bunny provided by the SouthBay Pavilion. Prior to the start of the Easter Egg Hunt, the children were entertained by Radio Disney and participated in a variety of activities including face painting, learning about sea creatures from the SEA Lab, arts and crafts by Lakeshore Learning Materials, MB Landscaping and Nursery, Heal the Bay, West Basin Water District, and Child Identification Program. If that wasn’t enough the children were able to work on their soccer skills and get Galaxy goodies from the Galaxy Street Team, visit with LA County Fire Dept. - Engine Co. 116’s firefighters and check out their truck and sample the delicious ice cream and sorbet from New Zealand Natural.
And then the Easter Egg Hunt started…the 1-3 year olds were up first, followed by the 4-6 year olds and finally the 7-10 year olds making a mad dash to collect the candy-filled eggs and candy provided by Nestlé USA. The kids were not only collecting eggs but they were also on the look out for specially-marked eggs and lucky carrots to win prizes donated by Nestlé USA, Annie’s Homegrown, Pals Around the World and Snookies Cookies.
It was a fun day, full of kids, candy and smiles!
