LA Galaxy vs Vancouver Whitecaps FC
In another exciting home game, Kicks for Kids groups Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County, Children’s Homes of Southern California, Crittenton Services for Children & Families-Fullerton Site, Dream Center, City of Compton Department of Park & Recreation and Trinity Youth Services saw their LA Galaxy take on the newest Canadian team in the league, the Vancouver Whitecaps FC.
The children in attendance were given their usual dosage of enjoyable action as the Galaxy was in firm control of the match. At the 40th minute, the Galaxy’s Robbie Keane made 300 kids rise to their feet as he dribbled the ball into the penalty area and crossed it with his right foot and on target for Mike Magee to tuck the ball into the net.
The game’s action had the kids up and down in their seats all night. At the 75th minute, the Galaxy’s Bryan Jordan created an opportunity for Magee and with the touch of his foot kicked the ball passed former LA Galaxy player and current Vancouver goalkeeper Joe Cannon. The kids from Hathaway-Sycamores Child & Family Services, LADP-SouthEast PALs, Bresee Foundation, and Rosemary Children Services yelled in unison as the Galaxy players celebrated with Magee.
The evening ended in a 3-1 victory for the undefeated LA Galaxy. 300 kids were excited to be part of this memorable occasion and thankful for the opportunity granted by the 2011 Kicks for Kids Community Partners.
