Is the Kick Start Reading Challenge open to all ages?
The reading challenge is open to participants under the age of 18.
I have 20 students in my classroom. Can I just sign up once for the whole classroom?
Yes. We ask that teachers/designated school personnel submit a registration form with a list of students participating, thus when we receive your participation list, we can cross reference progress. A student list will help track award distribution and total number of participants at the end of the challenge for both the LA Galaxy and the teacher.
I would like our library/classroom/after school program to sign up. Is that possible?
Yes. We invite all organizations to participate in the Kick Start Reading Challenge. If you wish to sign up your group, please make sure to indicate the expected number of participants when registering.
How & when should I submit the reading log to earn awards?
Reading logs can be submitted at the end of the challenge between Monday, May 23 and Friday May 27 via email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Final logs must be submitted no later than 12:00 PM PST on May 27, 2016 by participating schools; thus, reading logs should be collected from students by Friday, May 20 to provide teachers ample time to update their participant list and email it in.
How will I receive the awards?
After completed logs are returned & verified by a member of the Community Relations department, awards will be shipped to organization/school address listed on registration form by Friday, June 3rd.
