The 2010 LA Galaxy Youth Soccer Fantasy Camp started with a day full of exciting events. The day included a behind the scenes tour of The Home Depot Center, a mock Galaxy press conference, and a visit from Galaxy midfielder Michael Stephens. After a great morning, it was off to the pitch where the campers worked on passing, dribbling, and shooting.
Tuesday was lead by former LA Galaxy Defender (2003 – 2005) Paul Broome. He worked with the campers on some speed and agility drills; the same drills that the LA Galaxy players go through with Athletes Performance. The campers had a fantastic time working on their soccer skills.
Wednesday began with the campers getting their personalized Galaxy jerseys. Throughout the day they got some special visits from Sean Franklin, Todd Dunivant & Dema Kovalenko. Campers focused on both team and individual defensive strategies. The Galaxy players encouraged all the campers to constantly communicate with each other.
Thursday was a very exciting day for the Campers. Clint Mathis, Bryan Jordan, Eddie Lewis, and Gregg Berhalter all stopped by, and jumped into the training session. All the campers had a great time training with the Galaxy players and were showing signs of improvement by the end of the day.
Friday was the last day of Fantasy Camp, but camp definitely went out with a bang. Both Landon Donovan and Edson Buddle stopped by and signed autographs and talked with the campers. The day ended with an awards presentation and all the kids went home with a huge smile on their faces.
