Toronto FC stun Galaxy 2-1, head to semifinals
Toronto FC stunned the heavily-favored LA Galaxy, knocking the defending MLS Cup and Supporters’ Shield champions out of the CONCACAF Champions League by a 2-1 score at The Home Depot Center on Wednesday night.

With the loss, the Galaxy have been eliminated from the 2011/12 CONCACAF Champions League. The Galaxy lost the series 4-3 on aggregate after tying 2-2 in the first leg in Toronto.
The Galaxy started 10 of the 11 players that started the first leg of the series in Toronto last week. The only change from that game was the addition of Tommy Meyer in the starting lineup in place of Andrew Boyens. This was Meyer’s first-ever appearance in the CONCACAF Champions League.
