Landon Donovan and Omar Gonzalez named to USMNT preliminary roster for 2014 FIFA World Cup

By Adam Serrano

Landon Donovan and Omar Gonzalez are going to have their chance to play at the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

The two LA Galaxy stalwarts were named to U.S. head coach Jurgen Klinsmann's 30-man preliminary roster ahead of next month's 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. The group will convene at Stanford University on Wednesday for a two-week training camp where Klinsmann will reduce his group to the 23-man squad that will head to Brazil.

Donovan is seeking to reach his fourth World Cup while Gonzalez is hoping for his first. All players selected to the squad were included in my own 23-man roster projection last week
