Ahead of his final regular season match at the StubHub Center, Landon Donovan sits down with ESPN's Kenny Mayne to discuss his plans after he retires at the end of the LA Galaxy's 2014 campaign.

In addition to discussing his plans to put on weight after his career ends, Donovan tells Mayne about his favorite moment at StubHub Center and his reasoning on why he deserved to be on the U.S. squad during the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

Make no mistake, Steve Ralston is hoping that Landon Donovan will not break his MLS all-time assist record, but even if he does lose the honor, he "won't lose sleep over it."

Donovan currently sits at 132 assists and has just five matches left to pull level with Ralston's all-time mark of 135. Ralston, a mainstay with the New England Revolution during his career, who is now an assistant coach with the Houston Dynamo was frank in a conversation with MLSsoccer.com's Darrell Lovell when asked about Donovan's pursuit of the record.

“People keep asking me ‘What do you think?’ I think he’s at least going to tie it and probably break it,” Ralston told MLSsoccer.com on Tuesday. “Do I want him to break it? No, not really. The only person I’d want to break my record would be my son. People that say they want their records broken, they’re liars. Who doesn’t want to keep it?

“At the same time, if he breaks it I’m not going to lose sleep over it. He’s Landon Donovan. He’s arguably the greatest player in US soccer history. If someone’s going to break it, and it’s Landon Donovan, that’s fine with me.”

HOUSTON - LA Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena addressed the media following LA's 1-0 defeat to the Houston Dynamo

Arena's comments are below.

(On his thoughts on the play by Dan Gargan and Jaime Penedo…)

ARENA: “You saw it. Bad judgment on Dan’s part and poor execution by Jaime.”

(On the chances that the team created...)

ARENA: “We just didn’t finish; it’s hard to believe they even got a goal tonight. They weren’t going to get a goal and we gave them a chance and to their credit they finished it. We’re very disappointed to walk out of here without at least a point on a night where maybe we’re not great, but the other team is not dangerous and we have got to find a way to get a goal.”

(On how do you right the ship with this result…)

ARENA: “Get on the field and win on Wednesday, that’s how you right the ship.”

(On his thoughts of Raul Mendiola’s MLS debut…)

ARENA: “He did fine, he’s still a young kid but he played with a lot of confidence and courage so hopefully he can build on that.”

(On what was the strategy for this game…)

ARENA: “To win, that’s our strategy every game. Our team needed to get a goal and we came up short.”

CARSON, Calif. – Bye weeks and off days were prevalent in the early part of the LA Galaxy’s season, but now  with the Galaxy preparing to play their first match of a stretch of three games in eight days, changes are expected.

LA kick off their stretch on Saturday against the Houston Dynamo before facing FC Dallas on May 21 at StubHub Center) and then traveling to the Windy City to take on the Philadelphia Union on May 25. This run of matches comes as the Galaxy are already depleted with Landon Donovan and Omar Gonzalez already away on international duty while Todd Dunivant and Marcelo Sarvas still nursing injuries.

Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena told reporters that he expects to shuffle his personnel over the next stretch of games.

“We need to see more out of Samuel and Robbie Friend. In the midfield, we’re reliant on Juninho, Ishizaki, and Baggio Husidic, I think [Gyasi] Zardes needs to step up a little,” said Arena. “We’re going to be rotating [the back line] over the next few games which will give Tommy Meyer an opportunity at some point and perhaps Robbie Rogers as well. Over the next three games, we’d anticipate changing our lineup each time.”
