LA Galaxy goalkeeper Jaime Penedo will rejoin the club this week from the Copa CentroAmericana, but even though Panama did not win the Central American championship, Penedo will leave with some silverware.

Penedo was awarded the tournament’s Golden Glove award for best goalkeeper after conceding just two goals during Panama’s three games. Panama finished the tournament in third place after defeating El Salvador 1-0 in the third place match on Saturday afternoon at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

The award comes on the heels of Penedo's Golden Gloves showing at the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup when Penedo was instrumental in Panama’s run to the final. By finishing in the CentroAmericana's top four spots, Panama earned a berth in the 2015 edition of the Gold Cup.

CARSON, Calif. -- With Jaime Penedo away on international duty with Panama, Brian Rowe is expecting to make his third consecutive start this month against the San Jose Earthquakes on Sunday.

Rowe has started the last two games in net for the Galaxy while Penedo has been way with Panama at the Copa CentroAmericana, helping the Galaxy to a 1-0-1 record while conceding just two goals. Despite Panama's inability to reach the final, Penedo stayed behind to play in the third place match against El Salvador in Los Angeles before rejoining the Galaxy.

With Penedo away and Brian Perk starting for Galaxy II in their USL PRO playoff match against Rochester Rhinos on Sunday, Rowe is expecting to get the nod in net once more.

"You always go into games mentally preparing yourself to start," said Rowe. "I know I’ll prepare as if I’m starting. I’ll watch the film of San Jose and get ready."

If he does in fact get the start, Rowe expects a tough test from an Earthquakes side that while struggling, boasts a number of talented attacking weapons.

"They have [Chris] Wondolowski up there who’s great about getting into good positions finishing off balls. He always had good movement around the box, you always have to keep him in mind," said Rowe. "They got good guys going forward. It’s going to be a smaller field up there, a little tighter atmosphere. We just  have to start off the game well defensively and try and get the three points."

CARSON, Calif. -- A.J. DeLaGarza is back with the LA Galaxy.

The club confirmed on Saturday that the defender has rejoined the team after the burial of his infant son Luca earlier in the week. DeLaGarza will be available for selection for the Galaxy's match against the San Jose Earthquakes on Sunday at Buck Shaw Stadium.

The return of DeLaGarza is a major boost for the club's outside back depth as Dan Gargan is suspended for the match due to yellow card accumulation while Todd Dunivant remains injured with a groin issue. Both outside backs James Riley and Robbie Rogers are returning from injury.

MONTREAL -- The LA Galaxy will have two major absences when they take on the San Jose Earthquakes on Sunday.

Landon Donovan and Dan Gargan picked up yellow cards that will rule them out of Sunday's clash due to card accumulation. For Donovan, the suspension will cause him to miss his final game against his former club.

After the game, Donovan admitted that he was frustrated that he picked up a yellow card for dissent.

"I'm frustrated at myself. I should know better and I should have let it go. It's frustrating when we see a pretty clear handball that's not called and then they go down and score," said Donovan. "As a player in a game, it's frustrating, but I should know better and I should have done a better job letting it go."

Zach Pfeffer scored the lone goal for the Americans in the 61st minute to help the U.S. end their international trip with a 2-0-1 record. The trip was a highly successful one for Jamieson who appeared in all three matches and scored twice in the team's 3-2 victory over the Defensa y Justicia Reserves last week.

The 17-year-old Galaxy Homegrown Player will now return to Southern California where he's expected to be available for selection for Saturday's USLPRO playoff match against  the Rochester Rhinos at StubHub Center.

One day, Gyasi Zardes will like to be the leading goal scorer in MLS, but while that distinction will likely elude him this year, with his incredible goal tear this summer, he's already setting records.

With two goals in the LA Galaxy's 6-0 victory over the Colorado Rapids, Zardes brought his goal total on the year to 14 which set the all-time single season goal tally for MLS Homegrown Players. Zardes' mark of 14 bested New England Revolution attacker Diego Fagundez, who scored 13 goals a season ago.

In all, Zardes has scored 17 goals in all competitions this year after only scoring four times last year.
