CARSON, Calif. -- After their first practice since their 7-0 Chevrolet Cup defeat to Manchester United, the LA Galaxy were defiant that there will be no "post-friendly hangover" as they look ahead to their pivotal match against Seattle Sounders FC at CenturyLink Field on Monday.

The Galaxy reaction to their disappointing defeat was pointed and the social media response was even greater, but despite the frustration, Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena shrugged off any concerns that his team could be unprepared for Monday.

"We don't worry about these exhibitions whether we're on the positive side or the negative side. They are exhibitions," said  Arena. "They're to entertain the people that attended. They're not to decide how good you are or how bad how they are.

Galaxy captain Robbie Keane -- who was by far the most frank after the defeat -- admitted that the Galaxy will need to put the loss behind them quickly, if they'll complete with a Sounders team that is currently at the top of the MLS standings.

"As far as I'm concerned it's gone anyway. It's no reflection of how we've been doing and the hope is that the players forget about it," said Keane. "After all, what's the point? We didn't win anything, we didn't lose anything, we lost the game, but we couldn't any points from it so in that respect, it didn't really matter."

It's been a busy week for Omar Gonzalez.

Fresh off an impressive showing at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, the LA Galaxy and U.S. Men’s National Team defender bared it all for ESPN the Magazine, killed it on Conan and is now playing the role of Cameron in Kick TV’s Mike Magee’s Day Off.

The short film, which stars a who’s who of North American soccer, including a perfect cameo by Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena, spoofs the classic 80’s film Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. Former Galaxy forward Mike Magee stars in the Ferris Bueller role and a majority of the film was shot at StubHub Center.

Do you think Omar has a career in acting? Or should he stick to defending?

The 2014 FIFA World Cup is over, but before we turn the page to the tournament in Russia in four years, take a gander at this stunning animation by Richard Swarbrick.

The short film by the British artist and filmmaker recaps the entire month-long tournament in less than two minutes and is a must see.

CARSON, Calif. -- LA Galaxy  Homegrown stalwart Bradford Jamieson IV is making strides with the Galaxy first team and it appears that success will cost him an appearance for the U.S. Under-20 side in the upcoming NTC invitational tournament at StubHub Center.

Jamieson has been of the main offensive weapons for Galaxy II this year with five goals in 13 games with Los Dos and made his first career LA Galaxy gameday roster during Saturday's 1-0 victory over Real Salt Lake. The 17-year-old had been called up by U.S. U-20 head coach Tab Ramos last week for the four day tournament, but Jamieson told LA Galaxy Insider on Monday that his success with the first team will prevent him from suiting up for U-20's.

"I'm pretty confident that I'll get called into the next camp. I had a good chat with [Bruce Arena] and Tab Ramos about the fact of the matter that they're trying to keep me in the loop with the guys. I met with the players and the coaches and they're all really good," said Jamieson. "They know that I'm training with the [LA Galaxy] first team and know that my level won't be dropping. In fact, it's almost better that I'm playing with guys above my age and at a higher pace than I am."

The 2014 FIFA World Cup has finally concluded, but as the old saying goes: we’ll always have the memories of a thrilling month of action in Brazil.

On Sunday night, I nominated my two breakout stars of the tournament on Twitter, but ESPN FC went into greater depths to offer the best moments of the month-long tournament in this stunning montage.

There are just two games left in the 2014 FIFA World Cup with the action culminating on Sunday with the World Cup final between Germany and Argentina.

Ahead of the World Cup final and the third place game between Brazil and The Netherlands, check out ESPN FC's video of all the 167 goals scored in the tournament.  If just five goals are scored in the last two games, the 2014 FIFA World Cup will set a tournament record for most goals scored.

It was 15 years ago today that the United States last became World Cup champions when the U.S. Women's team defeated China in an epic penalty kick shootout in front of more than 90,000 at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena.

Over the course of 120 minutes, the match was more akin to one played on a chess board which both sides having limited chances. The match then went to penalties where goalkeeper Brianna Scurry made a clutch save in the third round that put the Americans ahead, setting the table for Brandi Chastain who buried her attempt in the fifth round to send the U.S. into bedlam. The iconic image of Chastain pulling off her shirt and revealing her sports bra would become an iconic American sports image.

The Galaxy will face Manchester United at the very same historic Rose Bowl Stadium on July 23.

Being a life-long resident of the San Gabriel Valley, I remember watching the match at age 12 from a nearby Mexican restaurant when Chastain buried her penalty, you could clearly hear the roar of the Rose Bowl crowd in the distance.

Where were you when Chastain buried her historic penalty kick?

CARSON, Calif. -- Other MLS players are attracting interest from abroad, but LA Galaxy center back Omar Gonzalez says that his focus is on helping LA compete for MLS Cup.

In an interview with Time Warner Cable Deportes' Elmur Souza, the Galaxy defender said that he has not received any offers from foreign clubs and is simply putting his focus in LA's 2014 MLS campaign. The statement comes amid speculation from Goal.com's Ives Galarcep that Gonzalez has interest from LigaMX club Cruz Azul

When asked later about his teammates interest abroad and his goals for the remainder of the season, Gonzalez said that his sole focus is on the Galaxy.

"My goals right now are to get back on the field with the LA Galaxy and hit the ground running so that I can continue with the way that I'm playing," said Gonzalez. "I'm just looking to win another MLS Cup that's the only thing that is on my mind."
