John Shrader -- Play-by-Play
A veteran broadcaster who spent 12 seasons calling games for the San Jose Earthquakes as well as 15 years with KNBR Radio in San Francisco, covering the 49ers and the Giants, Shrader is also a professor of journalism and media at Cal State Long Beach. While in Northern California, he also called play-by-play for Oakland Athletics telecasts and San Jose State University football radio broadcasts. In addition to his work at Time Warner Cable SportsNet calling high school and college football games, as well as the Galaxy, Shrader is also a professor of Journalism and Media at Cal State Long Beach.
Cobi Jones -- Color Analyst
A true Galaxy legend who scored the first goal in club history and spent 12 years representing the club as a player and then three more as an assistant coach, Cobi Jones returns as the network’s lead analyst for a second straight season. One of the most recognizable names an faces in soccer in Southern California, Jones is a member of the National Soccer Hall of Fame as well as the Galaxy’s all-time leader in games played and assists.
He captained the Galaxy to their first-ever MLS Cup title in 2002 while also serving as the club’s captain for their first Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup championship in 2001 and the 2000 CONCACAF Champions Cup, when LA were crowned the best club in the region. In 2005 he was part of the Galaxy’s “double” winning team that won both the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup and MLS Cup, giving him five championships during his time with the club.
His impressive club career, which included stops in Brazil with Vasco de Gama and England with Coventry City, is matched by an illustrious career with the U.S. National Team. The all-time leader with 164 caps for the U.S., Jones played in the FIFA World Cup three times, leading his country to the tournament in 1994, 1998 and 2002. He scored 15 goals from midfield in his 12-year career with the National Team, helping them win the CONCACAF Gold Cup in 2002 while also playing at the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona following a successful college career at UCLA.
He retired from the game following the 2007 MLS season and joined the club as an assistant coach ahead of the 2008 campaign. He kept that role, while also serving as the interim head coach for one game following Ruud Gullit’s departure in August 2008, through the 2010 campaign, after which he left the club to join the New York Cosmos as their Associate Director of Soccer.
In addition to his successful playing career in MLS and internationally, Jones is also experienced in the world of television, broadcasting games and serving as an in-studio analyst for ABC/ESPN, NBC and FOX, with who he called a number of the Galaxy’s CONCACAF Champions League games in 2011.
Kelli Tennant -- Sideline Reporter
A former college volleyball player at USC, Tennant transitioned to an on-camera role working as a reporter for TrojanTV All-Access and providing color analysis for USC men’s volleyball match webcasts. Tennant has also worked on high school football telecasts for Time Warner Cable SportsNet and SoCal 101 and previously worked for Fox Sports, ESPN, the Pac-12 Network, Longhorn Network, the Association of Volleyball Professionals (AVP) and E! News.
Clint Mathis -- Studio Analyst
Former soccer star Clint Mathis will serve as a studio analyst for LA Galaxy games on Time Warner Cable SportsNet. Mathis played for the LA Galaxy and several other teams during his 13-season professional soccer career and currently hosts youth clinics for the LA Galaxy.
