The LA Galaxy needed a big win, and that's exactly what they got, as two goals from Robbie Keane and a third from MLS newcomer Marcelo Sarvas paced them past D.C. United 3-1 in front of 18,466 at The Home Depot Center on Sunday evening.

- With the win, the Galaxy are now 1-1-0 on the season for three points. The Galaxy now find themselves tied with Seattle and San Jose for sixth place in the Western Conference standings.
- This was the Galaxy’s first win of the season and their first win in all competitions in 2012. LA have only ever opened the season with consecutive losses once, with that happening in 2001.
