How do I become Miss LA Galaxy? »
The Miss LA Galaxy contest was introduced in 2002. The contest is designed to add a female presence to a men’s professional soccer team and recognize the successful and proven role models of Los Angeles who take pride in their community, who have achieved great personal success, whether in academics or contributions to their community, and of course, support the LA Galaxy. The Miss LA Galaxy program lends an opportunity and platform for young women to represent the brand and act as a team ambassador. Through this platform Miss LA Galaxy and her court are able to meet and engage with LA Galaxy fans throughout Southern California. Past finalists and winners have all had either extensive volunteerism, service to their community or extraordinary academic achievement.
The excitement of the pre-contest and actual contest day is only the beginning for Miss LA Galaxy and her court. Throughout the year, Miss LA Galaxy and her court make appearances at local community events, speaking engagements, Galaxy games, and additional volunteer opportunities. At these events the girls are available for interviews, photos, question and answer sessions as well as autographs.
Through these events Miss LA Galaxy and her court are able to connect on a personal level with LA Galaxy fans throughout Southern California. They serve as positive role models hoping to inspire the next generation of Galaxy fans.
The program provides young women the opportunity to learn and grow in an atmosphere where they will receive professional training in various matters such as interviewing, public relations, marketing, community development and many others.
The popularity of the contest and its winners has grown tremendously throughout the years and Miss LA Galaxy has found admirers from all over the globe. This year and every year, we expect the program to grow within the local community of Southern California.
The finalists are selected based on their community involvement, support for soccer, academic success, and/or other personal achievements. The finalists are then judged on sportswear, personal interview, on-the-spot interviews, modeling, and a fun little segment of team trivia.
