Controversial ref not assigned through Wednesday

FIFA deny reports that Coulibaly has been permanently dropped

Koman Coulibaly, the referee who controversially disallowed a USA goal in their 2-2 tie with Slovenia on Friday, will not officiate any games through Wednesday.

On Monday FIFA published its officiating assignments for the next two days, and Coulibaly was not listed as a referee nor an assistant.

FIFA's head of refereeing, José María García-Aranda, told media in a scheduled session Monday that some refereeing decisions in this World Cup "are not good," according to a Guardian.co.uk report.

He added that he was happy with the standard of officiating overall but declined to discuss specific incidents, such as the USA's disallowed goal.

FIFA would not confirm that Coulibaly has been dropped permanently from the World Cup, despite reports on Friday that he would not offiate again this tournament.
