Moyes: Donovan probably out of club's price range
Everton manager David Moyes has said he would like to have Landon Donovan back at the EPL club. The LA Galaxy striker, who spent several months on loan at Goodison Park this past winter, was a game-changer for the Toffees.
However, on Saturday, Moyes admitted Donovan's transfer fee is likely too high for the club.
"The price which the MLS would want would be big and that might be a problem," Moyes said after Everton's match with Norwich City.
Since his fantastic performance at the World Cup, Donovan has been the constant subject of transfer talk, including speculation about his possibly moving to such clubs as Manchester City and even Chelsea.
However, MLS commissioner Don Garber has said Donovan is not for sale, stressing his importance to his club and the league.
So far this season, Donovan has 3 goals and a league-leading 11 assists heading into LA's match with the Chicago Fire on Sunday evening (7:30 pm ET, Fox Soccer Channel). He is one goal shy of becoming the 6th player in league history to notch 100 regular-season MLS goals.
