LA Galaxy’s 30 Prizes in 30 Days Has Been a Hit with Club’s Season Ticket Holders

CARSON,
Calif. - It’s amazing what a soccer ball can accomplish.

Granted,
this soccer ball is signed by none other than Pelé and it would have put any
soccer fan through a gamut of emotions. For 64-year-old Pierre, it took him to
a different era. It made him feel like a kid again.

Pierre, who
became an LA Galaxy season ticket holder last year, won the prized autographed
ball as part of the Galaxy’s ongoing Season
Ticket Renewal 30 prizes in 30 days
promotion.

“I was very
excited about it. Pelé is more of an icon for me… and that was the one [prize]
I really wanted,” he said. “The whole experience has been really good. It makes
me feel even more like I’m part of the Galaxy team.”

Only three
days remain in the promotion and already the club is more than five times ahead
of last year’s renewal rate. In large part due to the new promotion, this
year’s renewal process has been one of the best in recent club history.

Another season
ticket holder was Paul, who won an authentic team signed Galaxy jersey. Paul,
who is a member of the LA Riot Squad, said he wasn’t expecting to win anything.

“I really
appreciate the extra support from the Galaxy front office,” he said. “In
addition to putting on exclusive events for [the supporter groups] and putting
together away game trips, they come up with promotions like this one.  That’s really important.

“I’m
looking forward to a trip to Toronto.  I
think it would be really sweet for the Galaxy jerseys next year to have the
third star above the Galaxy shield

Some of the
prizes that have been given out already include: Tickets for two to the
President’s Suite for a game in 2011, lunch with LA Galaxy President of
Business Operations Tom Payne, an opportunity to become the Galaxy’s official
photographer for one game and autographed memorabilia.

Among the
prizes still to be given out are an autographed jersey and soccer ball by the
2010-11 Real Madrid squad, who were kind enough to sign the items when they
were in Los Angeles
for their friendly against the Galaxy on August 7.

“I was
going to renew anyway, but the prizes gave me more motivation to do it early,”
Pierre said. “I was amazed that I won, so it was frosting on the cake.”
