MLSsoccer.com launches new fantasy game: Salary Cap Challenge

"Salary Cap Challenge" first of two new fantasy games in ‘11

Do you live in a fantasy world? Yeah, so do we.

Which is why we are so excited to introduce two new fantasy games this year.

Salary Cap Challenge is set to kick off this Friday. It’s a “salary cap” game, so you get to have any player you want on your team, as long as you can manage your budget. You will be able to pick your roster starting on Friday, and the first of three seasons this year will begin with MLS First Kick, on March 15, when the Seattle Sounders welcome the LA Galaxy (9:30 pm ET/6:30 pm PT, ESPN/ESPN Deportes/ESPN3.com).

Here are some of Salary Cap Challenge’s highlights:

  • Custom leagues
  • Live advanced stats during matches
  • Facebook Connect login

And, yes, there are prizes. Because what would a fantasy game be if the winner didn’t get something real.

Here are a few for the prizes available in Salary Cap Challenge:

  • All-expenses-paid trips to marquee MLS events
  • Cash prizes (paying players only)
  • MLS gear

If that’s not enough, a full-blown “league manager-style” game, MLSsoccer.com Fantasy Challenge, will launch in the coming weeks. Channel your inner Bruce Arena. Create custom leagues, hold a draft, make trades, and try to outmanage, outmaneuver, and outplay your friends.

Stay tuned for more details. And enjoy the fantasies.
