LA Galaxy to hold Food Drive on Saturday

All donations will benefit the Los Angeles Regional Foodbank

CARSON, Calif. – The LA Galaxy will conduct their annual Food Drive benefiting the Los Angeles Regional Foodbank this Saturday, September 17 as part of the club’s annual Drive Series and in support of Hunger Action Month. Fans are encouraged to join the Galaxy in the fight against hunger by donating five canned food items or $5 prior to the club’s game against Vancouver Whitecaps FC at 7:30 p.m. at The Home Depot Center.

The first 200 donors will receive a player card signed by Galaxy defender Omar González while all donors will be given a voucher valid for $5 off the gate price of a ticket for the all-important showdown with Real Salt Lake at The Home Depot Center on October 1.  Additionally, every donor will be entered into a drawing to receive an adidas LA Galaxy soccer ball signed by members of the 2011 team. Donations can be made at any Galaxy Drive Series booth located outside each entrance of The Home Depot Center starting at 5:30 p.m.

Following this weekend’s food drive, the Galaxy will host their final Drive Series event, a clothing drive, on Saturday, October 1 to benefit the Union Rescue Mission, who will then distribute the items to children and families in need.
