LA Galaxy announce Herbalife as official presenting sponsor of Asia Pacific Tour 2011

LA to play friendlies in Australia, Indonesia and the Philippines from Nov. 30 through Dec. 6

CARSON, Calif. (Sunday, November 13, 2011) – The LA Galaxy announced today that Herbalife, a global nutrition company and the club’s official sponsor, will be the official presenting sponsor of the Galaxy’s Asia Pacific Tour 2011. The Galaxy will open their three-game tour in Jakarta, Indonesia on November 30 before traveling to Manila, Philippines for a game on December 3. The tour will conclude in Melbourne, Australia on Tuesday, December 6. Local broadcast information for the entire tour will be announced at a future date.

In addition to sponsoring the Galaxy, Herbalife is a global sponsor of more than 100 teams and athletes around the world including, FC Barcelona, and the two-time FIFA Ballon d'Or winner Lionel Messi. In its Asia Pacific region, the company’s sponsorships include India's cricket star Virat Kohli, triathlete Monica Torres of the Philippines, and Australian champion kayaker, Hannah Davis.  

The Asia Pacific Tour will open in Jakarta on Wednesday, November 30 when the Galaxy will face a collection of the top players from the Indonesia’s Super League at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium. Three days later, the club will travel to Manila to face the Philippines National Team at Rizal Memorial Stadium on Saturday, December 3. This will be the first appearance by the Galaxy in both Indonesia and Philippines.

Following those games, the Galaxy will head to Australia where they will conclude their three-game tour against Melbourne Victory of the Hyundai A-League in the Hyundai Melbourne Challenge. That game will be played at Etihad Stadium in Melbourne on Tuesday, December 6.
