Galaxy trio in international duty in Wednesday’s friendlies
In the early morning hours here in Southern California, Keat was making his international debut, coming on as a second half substitute for the All Whites in their 3-2 loss to Jamaica in Auckland. A former U-20 and U-23 midfielder for his country, Keat replaced Michael McGlinchey in the 65th minute of Wednesday’s game at Mt. Smart Stadium. The score was 2-1 in favor of Jamaica when Keat came on and each team scored once in his 25 minutes of action.
Over in Europe, Robbie Keane collect the 115th cap of his international career, playing 71 minutes in Ireland’s 1-1 home draw with the Czech Republic in Dublin while Edson Buddle came on late in second half stoppage of the 1-0 win over Italy in Genoa, collecting his 11th cap.
All three players are scheduled to return to Southern California this week ahead of the Galaxy’s trip to Toronto for the first leg of their CONCACAF Champions League Quarterfinal.
