On Monday, April 30th, the Los Angeles Galaxy Foundation, The Home Depot Center Charitable Foundation and The Home Depot partnered to build their fourth Reading Garden at Chapman Elementary School, winners of the 2012 Reading Garden Challenge, in Gardena. Volunteers from each entity spent the day painting, staining, and planting in order to transform the school’s outdoor space into a one-of-a-kind Reading Garden where the students could foster their love of reading.

Galaxy players Edson Buddle, Todd Dunivant, Sean Franklin, Omar Gonzalez and Dan Keat made a surprise visit to help the volunteers put the finishing touches on the garden and join in the official “board cutting” ceremony.

Thank you to Herbalife, FIJI Water, Shasta, Panera Bread – Carson, Noah’s Bagels – El Segundo, and Starbucks – Redondo Beach & Normandie for their contributions to the Reading Garden build!
