ON LOAN UPDATES:

David Beckham and Landon Donovan remain in Europe on loan with AC Milan and Everton respectively, with each in action last weekend.

On Saturday, Donovan played the full 90 minutes in midfield for Everton as they defeated Manchester United 3-1 at Goodison Park. Donovan helped to set up Everton's game-winning goal in the 76th minute, laying the ball off for Leighton Baines who crossed for Dan Gosling, who scored to make the score 2-1. Everton are now in eighth place in the Premier League with 38 points.

The following day, Beckham came off the bench to play the final nine minutes of Milan's 2-0 win at Bari, replacing Gennaro Gattuso in the 81st minute. Milan remain in third place in Serie A with 48 points, leaving them two points behind second place Roma and seven behind the league leaders Inter Milan.

Donovan and Everton play twice this week, traveling to Portugal for the second leg of their Europa League Round of 32 series against Sporting Lisbon on Thursday and then facing Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane on Sunday in a Premier League game. Everton lead Sporting 2-1 on aggregate after last week's first leg, meaning that a win or a draw will assure them of a spot in the Round of 16. Tottenham are one of the seven teams currently ahead of Everton in the Premier League standings, with the Toffees claiming a 3-1-1 record against those clubs since Donovan's arrival last month.

Milan are also in action twice this week with a pair of league games. On Wednesday, they travel to Florence to take on Fiorentina before hosting Atalanta at the San Siro on Sunday.

YOUTH ACADEMY

ACADEMY TEAMS SPLIT WITH REAL SO CAL:

The Galaxy U-16's are now in second place with a 3-1-2 record in the Division, giving them 11 points.

The U-18's however were not able to win their second straight, falling 3-1 to first place Real SoCal. Christian Alvarez gave the Galaxy a 1-0 lead in the 16th minute, but Real SoCal equalized just before halftime and then added two after the break to clinch a 3-1 win. The Galaxy are now 3-2-1 for 10 points, leaving them five points behind Real with 10 divisional games remaining.

Both teams are back in action on Saturday when they travel south to San Diego to take on Nomads SC at Kinsell Field. The U-16 game kicks off at 12:30 p.m., followed by the U-18 game at 2:30 p.m.
