Boca Juniors Announce Travel Roster

C.A. Boca Juniors announced today their travel roster for their upcoming 2010 U.S. Tour, which kick’s off this Sunday, May 23, at The Home Depot Center with their first ever match against the LA Galaxy. The match, which will kickoff at 5 p.m., will be broadcast live in both English and Spanish. The game’s English broadcast will be carried by FS West, the Galaxy’s local broadcast partner, while Galavision, a sister-station of MLS broadcast partner Univision, will broadcast the game in Spanish nationwide.


Headlining the roster are former Argentinean national team star defender Hugo Ibarra and long-time Argentinean league veteran Matías Giménez. Boca’s roster also features potential stars Fabián Monzón Javier García. Monzón, a 23-year-old defender on loan from Real Bettis, was a member of Argentina’s Gold Medal squad at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Garcia, also 23, became Boca Junior’s starting goalkeeper this past season Clausura season, taking over for World Cup veteran Roberto Abbondanzieri.


Known for being a club that plays an attractive style of soccer, Boca Juniors are one of the world’s most recognizable clubs. The Argentine giants’ honors comprise of 23 domestic championships and 18 international trophies, including six Copa Libertadores titles.
