BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. – Chicago Fire attacker Nery Castillo says he'll be ready for Saturday's clash against the LA Galaxy.
The Mexican international, who didn't travel with the Fire to Seattle last week due to concerns about his fitness level, told reporters that he feels “good” and that he’s ready for whatever decision head coach Carlos de los Cobos makes regarding his role this weekend.
“I really want to play right now,” Castillo said through a translator. “I have been training really hard this week to get physically better, but it’s just now up to the coach if he wants me to play.”
De los Cobos said he will wait until the end of week to decide if Castillo is fit enough to put on the pitch on Saturday.
"If he’s ready to play, if he feels good, [then] he will play,” de los Cobos told MLSsoccer.com. “If he doesn’t feel confident to start, he will be in the bench and we will start with other guys. We need to wait until the end of the week [to decide].”
