It was very brief, but there is no denying what happened. After beating Seattle's defense and burying a header past Kasey Keller, Omar Gonzalez celebrated by sticking out his chest, flexing his right arm and doing the "John Wall".
WATCH: Omar does the "John Wall" (:10)
What's the John Wall? If you're not a college hoops or NBA fan, you may not even know who John Wall is. And living on the West Coast, that probably leaves you further in the dark.
Thanks to Omar's rendition last night though, we did a little research this morning and we're here to enlighten you:
The University of Kentucky product popularized his now signature move in college, and debuted it in the pro's prior to his first NBA home game with the Washington Wizards last month.
Just how big has this craze really gotten though? Well you can follow it on Facebook, watch one of the numerous videos on YouTube (the "official Do the John Wall" video, watch it below, has received more than two million views), and even see a variety of D.C. sports figures bust the move on a video welcoming Wall to our nation's capital.
While we've seen Wall and others do the dance (Dallas Cowboys cornerback Alan Ball used it during Sunday Night Football), this is the first time we've seen a soccer player doing it. Our reaction: Not bad.
Can you do the John Wall? Record your rendition, post it on YouTube and send us the link at firstname.lastname@example.org! You may win two tickets to Sunday's Western Conference Championship at The Home Depot Center! Plus, we'll pick a few of our favorites to play on the big screen in the stadium before the match!
Chat live with Omar on this week's Cup of Joe live webchat on lagalaxy.com! Tune in on Thursday, November 11 at 12:15 p.m. PT and ask Omar your questions. Can't make it? Send your questions for us to ask for you and watch his response later. Email questions to email@example.com.
