LA Galaxy to be Featured in Seven Fox Soccer Telecasts

CARSON, Calif. – The LA Galaxy will be featured in seven of FOX Soccer’s national broadcasts this upcoming season, Major League Soccer and FOX Soccer announced today. Last season, the club was also featured in seven of FOX Soccer’s telecasts.


Additionally, the Galaxy announced today that the club’s match against D.C. United at The Home Depot Center has changed dates. The game, which was originally scheduled for Saturday, June 4, will now be played on Friday, June 3 at 8 p.m.


Also, the club’s games against the Portland Timbers on April 23, San Jose Earthquakes on June 25 and MLS Cup Champion Colorado Rapids on Sept. 9 will now kickoff at 8 p.m., the games were originally scheduled to kickoff at 7:30 p.m.

Of the Galaxy’s 34 games in 2011, 18 will be aired by the league’s national broadcast partners. In addition to the seven on FOX Soccer, ESPN and ESPN Deportes are scheduled to air six Galaxy games in 2011, while Galavision and TeleFutura will broadcast a total of five Galaxy games, beginning with the club’s home opener against the New England Revolution on Sunday, March 20 at The Home Depot Center.


The Galaxy’s 16th season begins on Tuesday, March 15 when the club heads to Seattle to take on the Seattle Sounders FC at Qwest Field in MLS First Kick 2011, presented by Dick’s Sporting Goods. That game, which will kick off at 6:30 p.m., will be shown live on ESPN and ESPN Deportes, as well as online at ESPN3.com.
