LA Galaxy players, volunteers from the Galaxy, The Home Depot Center, and The Home Depot Carson and Lakewood stores along with Leapwood Avenue Elementary School students will be painting, installing planters, building benches and planting flowers. After the Reading Garden is completed, Galaxy players will read to students.

The Reading Garden is funded with proceeds from the 2010 How Suite It Is! fundraiser, and contributions from the Los Angeles Galaxy Foundation, The Home Depot Center Charitable Foundation and The Home Depot. In addition, Lakeshore Learning Materials, as a contributing sponsor, will be donating seat cushions for the Reading Garden.

On Saturday, August 20, the Los Angeles Galaxy Foundation and The Home Depot Center Charitable Foundation will host the 2011 How Suite It Is! fundraiser prior to the Galaxy’s home game against the San Jose Earthquakes to raise funds for additional Reading Gardens.
