The annual LA Galaxy Youth Fantasy Camp kicked off today with 28 passionate soccer campers from around the world. While most of the participants are from California, the camp features a couple of participants from Arizona and Ohio and two from Indonesia.
The Youth Fantasy Camp is headed by former Galaxy great Paul Caligiuri and our Galaxy Soccer Camps staff coaches. Upon arrival at camp, all Youth Soccer Fantasy campers were put through a variety of fitness, drills, technique, soccer games and functional play in which their speed and agility were tested.
Throughout the duration of the camp, every camper will come away with many new ideas, skills and a positive understanding of play and will understand the importance of having fun every time they step on the field.
Galaxy defenders Todd Dunivant and Sean Franklin made an appearance today and gave a demonstration about passing from the back– they also signed autographs and took pictures with all of the campers.
The camp will conclude on Monday, July 4 with a ticket to the game and an on field recognition prior to the Galaxy’s match against the Seattle Sounders FC and annual postgame Fireworks Show.
