CARSON, Calif. (Friday, September 23, 2011) – The LA Galaxy announced today that the club will begin to sell tickets for the upcoming MLS Cup Playoffs at 10 a.m. on Monday, September 26. For as little as $42, Galaxy fans will have the opportunity to purchase a Two-Game Playoff Strip which will feature the home leg of their Conference Semifinal Series as well as a potential Conference Championship. With their 1-0 win over Colorado at The Home Depot Center two weeks ago, the Galaxy became the first of 10 teams to clinch a berth in the 2011 MLS Cup Playoffs, which will culminate with MLS Cup at The Home Depot Center on Sunday, November 20.
The Two-Game Playoff Strip will include tickets to two Galaxy playoff games as well as the option to add on one of the club’s two remaining regular season games or MLS Cup 2011 for as low as $25. If the Galaxy do not host two postseason games this year, the ticket for the second game will be refunded or fans can elect to have the balance credited towards 2012 season tickets.
The Galaxy currently have the best record in MLS with a 16-3-10 record for 58 points, leaving them seven points clear of both Seattle and Real Salt Lake. Back in the postseason for the third straight year and looking to win their second consecutive Supporters’ Shield, the Galaxy have now qualified for the postseason 13 times in their 16 years of play in MLS. They advanced past the opening round of postseason play 10 times in their previous 12 playoff appearances while reaching MLS Cup a record six times.
On Saturday, October 1, the Galaxy will host Fan Appreciation Night when the club plays Real Salt Lake at 7:30 p.m. at The Home Depot Center in an all-important game that will help to decide who wins the 2011 Supporters’ Shield. Two weeks later, the club will face off against inter-city rival Chivas USA in the final regular season home game at 6 p.m. on Sunday, October 16 at The Home Depot Center.
