CARSON, Calif. (Wednesday, September 28, 2011) – The LA Galaxy will host their annual Fan Appreciation Night on Saturday, October 1, when they host Real Salt Lake. The match, which is presented by Titan Auto Insurance, kicks off at 7:30 p.m. at The Home Depot Center. The club will use this game to shown their appreciation to the fans for the tremendous support that they have show throughout the 2011 season.
As a way of showing gratitude to all their supporters, the Galaxy have planned an extraordinary in-stadium fan experience for this match featuring player autographs, prize giveaways, the 2012 Miss LA Galaxy Contest, a clothing drive as part of the Galaxy Drive Series and plenty of surprises for all fans in attendance. Fans should arrive early to enjoy the festivities as gates will open at 5:30 p.m.
Highlighting Fan Appreciation Night will be the awarding of three grand prize giveaways, including: a four-day, three-night stay in Cabo San Lucas, courtesy of Welk Resorts, and roundtrip airfare, courtesy of Alaska Airlines; a set of Taylor Made golf clubs and bag, courtesy of adidas; and an exclusive LA Galaxy Playoff Road Trip that includes round-trip airline tickets for two, one-night stay hotel and tickets to the Galaxy’s first road game in the 2011 MLS Cup Playoffs.

Prior to the game, fans are invited to cheer on the Miss LA Galaxy contestants as they compete for the title of Miss LA Galaxy 2012. The contest begins at 6 p.m. on the main concourse of The Home Depot Center. The ten finalists will be judged on their appearance and presentation as well as their knowledge of Galaxy trivia. The winner will be selected based on her performance, along with an online fan poll, sportswear competition, and a previously conducted interview.
In addition, the Galaxy will be collecting new and gently-used clothing, shoes and blankets prior to Saturday night’s game against Real Salt Lake. All items collected will benefit children and families in need through the Union Rescue Mission. Collection booths will be set up outside of all gates at The Home Depot Center starting two hours prior to the game. All fans that donate clothes will receive a Galaxy Drive Series voucher good for $5 off a ticket to the Galaxy’s game against Chivas USA on October 16, a player card signed by Galaxy defender A.J. DeLaGarza and be entered into a drawing to win an adidas soccer ball signed by members of the 2011 Galaxy.
