CARSON, Calif. – Four of the six LA Galaxy Academy teams were in action last weekend, with the U-15’s scoring a terrific 2-1 win over previously undefeated Real So Cal. The club’s U-16 and U-18 teams both had a bye week in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy. Fives games were played in total with the Galaxy Academy teams going 4-1-0, outscoring their opponents 14-5 in those matches.

Daquan Dawkins scored two goals and Owen Zaldivar and Lucas Rosales each scored once as the LA Galaxy U-12’s beat United FC, 4-1, on Sunday at Rancho Mission Viejo Riding Park in San Juan Capistrano. Since the game was part of a showcase, and the result had no bearing on their SCDSL standings, the Galaxy remain in first place of their league with a 5-2-0 overall record and goal difference of plus-4.

Lucas Rosales scored two goals and Tristan Trager added another as the LA Galaxy U-12 beat Nomads SC, 3-1, in the second game of their showcase on Sunday at Rancho Mission Viejo Riding Park in San Juan Capistrano.

College of the Canyons
Jesus Nuñez scored two goals and Ateno Ajeakwa, Jesse Magellon and Rapha Diago each scored one goal as the LA Galaxy U-13’s shutout the Central California Blues, 5-0, on Saturday at the College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita. Goalkeepers Allan Carrillo and Angel Viella combined to keep the clean sheet. The Galaxy U-13’s improved to 4-1-2 overall in the season. They are in fifth place, one point behind two teams that are tied for third place.
LA Galaxy U-14’s 0, Chivas USA 2

The LA Galaxy U-14 lost to rival Chivas USA, 2-0, on Saturday at Aviation Park in Redondo Beach. With the loss, the Galaxy dropped to 3-1-3 and seventh place in the standings.
LA Galaxy U-15’s 2, Real So Cal 1

Pierce College
With goals from Collin Hossum and Adrian Vera, the LA Galaxy U-15 ended Real So Cal’s undefeated season with a 2-1 win at Pierce College in Woodland Hills on Saturday. Vera scored the first goal of the game in the 25th minute. Hossum assisted on the goal. Seven minutes later, Hossum put the Galaxy up 2-0. Real So Cal scored a goal in the second half, but the Galaxy held on for the win. Earlier in the season, Real So Cal handed the Galaxy their first loss of the year, a 2-1 loss on Oct. 9. Both teams are now tied for first place in the standings with identical 7-1-0 records.

Alejandro Covarrubias helped the Falcons beat Pasadena City College, 4-1, on Tuesday with a free kick goal in the first half. Covarrubias, a defender, has three goals on the season. The sophomore has also helped Cerritos post seven clean sheets. Cerritos College, the alma matter of U.S. Soccer Hall of Famer Marcelo Balboa, is currently ranked No. 3 in the nation in the NSCAA – Div. III poll. With the win, the Falcons improved to 14-1-1 overall, 8-1-0 in the South Coast Conference.
