LA Galaxy Asia Pacific Tour 2011 to be televised on FOX Soccer and FOX Deportes

CARSON, Calif. (Monday, November 28, 2011) – The MLS Cup 2011 champion LA Galaxy and national cable network FOX Soccer today announced all three games in the Asia Pacific Tour 2011, presented by Herbalife, will be broadcast live by FOX Soccer, starting with Wednesday’s game against the Indonesian National Selection at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta at 4 a.m. (PT).


Three days later, the club will travel to Manila to face the Philippines National Team at Rizal Memorial Stadium on Saturday, December 3. The game, which will be the Galaxy’s first ever match in the Philippines, will kickoff at 3:30 a.m. (PT).


Following those games, the Galaxy will head to Australia where they will conclude their three-game tour against Melbourne Victory of the Hyundai A-League in the Hyundai Melbourne Challenge. That game will be played at Etihad Stadium in Melbourne on Tuesday, December 6, at 12:30 a.m. (PT) and will also be broadcast in HD on FOX Soccer.


Along with all three games of the Asia Pacific Tour, presented by Herbalife, being broadcast on FOX Soccer, the first two legs of the tour will also be shown on delay on FOX Deportes, further enhancing the club’s reach into the city’s strong Spanish-language speaking community in the Southland. The first game FOX Deportes is going to show will be Wednesday’s game in Indonesia, with the broadcast set to kickoff at 8 a.m. (PT). FOX Deportes is also going to air the Galaxy’s game against the Philippines National Team on December 3 at 5 a.m. (PT).


The Galaxy departed Saturday night for Jakarta, Indonesia for the start of the three-nation tour, which will see the club play in Jakarta on Wednesday, in Manila, Philippines on December 3 and in Melbourne, Australia on December 6.


The Galaxy’s roster for the Asia Pacific Tour 2011, presented by Herbalife, is highlighted by MLS Best XI selections David Beckham, Landon Donovan, who was also the MLS Cup MVP, Todd Dunivant and 2011 MLS Defender of the Year Omar Gonzalez, as well as postseason heroes A.J. DeLaGarza, Robbie Keane, Mike Magee, Josh Saunders and more.
