The British papers have recently suggested that LA Galaxy striker Robbie Keane is on his way to Aston Villa on some sort of loan deal. However, there has been nothing concrete as of yet.
What is for sure is that Keane will be on a field in England this offseason. Tottenham Hotspur announced on their site today that the Galaxy Designated Player will train with the club for a few weeks this month.
Keane, who scored 121 goals in 293 appearances for Spurs between 2002 and 2010, will be with the North London club until January 20 "in order to build up his fitness" ahead of the upcoming MLS season.
The Galaxy will prepare for several early tests in 2012, including the FC Tucson Desert Cup in late February and their two-leg CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinal series with Toronto FC in early March. They will open their MLS title defense at home on March 10.
