CARSON, Calif. (Thursday, January 19, 2012) – The 2011 MLS Cup Champion LA Galaxy will host an Open House at The Home Depot Center on Sunday, January 22 from 12-4 p.m. The event is free and open to the public, and will allow fans who are interested in purchasing Season Tickets for the upcoming season the opportunity to select their exact seats as the Galaxy attempt to repeat as MLS Cup Champions in 2012.
Current Season Ticket and Mini Plan Holders will have the rare opportunity to get on to the field The Home Depot Center and participate in a series of dribbling, passing, and shooting drills, as well as playing in a small-sided scrimmage. Galaxy defenders Todd Dunivant and Sean Franklin (from 12:30 – 2 p.m.), and goalkeeper Josh Saunders and midfielder Bryan Jordan (from 2 - 3:30 p.m.), will be on hand to assist with the drills. Space is limited for this opportunity and sign up will be done on-site on a first come, first served basis. Those interested should come dressed in soccer attire; turf shoes and shin guards are recommended.
Galaxy staff will be available throughout the day to assist fans interested in becoming Season Ticket or Mini Plan Holders. Season Ticket and Mini Plan Holders receive priority for the best seat locations, discounts off gate ticket prices and other exclusive benefits. Also, fans who reserve their 2012 Season Tickets by this Sunday will receive collector’s edition tickets, featuring a series of images from the Galaxy’s 2011 championship season.
As an added bonus, all attendees at Sunday’s Open House will have the opportunity to receive a behind-the-scenes tour of The Home Depot Center, take a photo with the 2011 MLS Cup Trophy, receive a 25 percent discount on all Galaxy gear at the TEAM LA Store and watch the Galaxy Academy U-18 and U-16 teams take on the Vancouver Whitecaps FC Academy Teams on Field 5, with those games starting at 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., respectively. Additionally, fans can enjoy lunch and dessert from three of L.A.’s top food trucks, Kogí, The Grilled Cheese Truck and Coolhaus.

The LA Galaxy will open preseason ahead of the 2012 MLS season next week at The Home Depot Center. They will return to competitive action on Wednesday, March 7 when they take on Toronto FC in the first leg of their 2011/12 CONCACAF Champions League Quarterfinal, which will be played at Rogers Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. They will open the 2012 MLS season three days later on Saturday, March 10 when they host Real Salt Lake at The Home Depot Center in MLS First Kick 2012, presented by Dick’s Sporting Goods.
