The reigning MLS Cup Champions were the only team in the league to go undefeated at home last season, compiling a 12-0-5 record in their 17 home games at The Home Depot Center for 41 of a possible 51 points and only allowing more than a single goal once. Bruce Arena’s squad also went 3-0-0 at The Home Depot Center in the CONCACAF Champions League and 3-0-0 there during the MLS Cup Playoffs, which culminated with a 1-0 win over the Houston Dynamo in front of more than 30,000 fans.
The Galaxy open their 2012 MLS season on Saturday, March 10 when they host Real Salt Lake in a game that is presented by Herbalife. That game will be a rematch of the 2011 Western Conference Championship, which the Galaxy won 3-1 behind goals from Landon Donovan, Mike Magee and Robbie Keane. All three of those players, as well as central midfielders David Beckham and Juninho, MLS Best XI defender Todd Dunivant, goalkeeper Josh Saunders and 2010 Galaxy MVP Edson Buddle will be back in a Galaxy uniform this season as the club looks to defend their MLS Cup title and also become the first MLS club to win the CONCACAF Champions League.
In addition to single game tickets, season ticket plans as well as three and six-game mini plans, which give fans the chance to see more of the MLS Cup champs at a significant discount, are also available. Full season ticket packages, which include all 17 Galaxy regular season home games as well as three bonus games, one of which is the second leg of the club’s CONCACAF Champions League Quarterfinal against Toronto FC on Wednesday, March 14, start at just $20 per game. (BUY NOW) Mini plans, which start at $22 per game, allow fans the opportunity to pick the three or six games that they want to see during the 2012 campaign, including the season opener against RSL, the May 5 playoff rematch with New York, the annual fireworks spectacular on July 4 or any other game.
