Welcome to the LA Galaxy Insider Blog, an independent Galaxy news source

They say writing about oneself is one of the hardest things that a writer can do, but here it goes…

My name is Adam Serrano, and I want to welcome you to the LA Galaxy Insider Blog, a site that will provide constant, independent and in-depth coverage on the LA Galaxy. For years, Galaxy fans have gone to dozens of sites to get their coverage of the team, and the belief is that this will become your first source for news, features and stories on the Galaxy.

This blog is my primary platform for breaking news, analysis and discussion while features, notebooks, game stories and more will be featured prominently on LAGalaxy.com. This venture is unlike many that exist in pro sports let alone in MLS as while this blog lives on the Galaxy team site, it is an independent source on the club.

Ultimately, it will be you --the readers-- that will determine the content, not anyone in Galaxy management. The hope is that not only will the readers be provided with comprehensive attention on all facets of the Galaxy, but will also have a chance to drive the conversation.  That being said, while commenting will be important the blog, respectful behavior is encouraged.

To tell you about my background, I’ve been a soccer fan since age ten when I began sneaking into the Rose Bowl to watch the likes of Mauricio Cienfuegos, Robin Fraser and Jorge Campos. But in my final year at the University of California, Berkeley, I decided to begin my foray into sports journalism by starting my very own site called the Berkeley Sports Blog (R.I.P.). It was on that humble little blog spot site where I decided to become a full time freelance journalist.

From there, I wrote regularly for Soccer By Ives primarily covering the Galaxy and MLSsoccer.com where I served as the Chivas USA beat reporter. I’d like to express my deepest gratitude to all involved in those outlets for their support and tutelage throughout this wild journey of mine.  But as those chapters end, another one begins and I could not be more excited to begin as the LA Galaxy Insider.

Now that the logistics are out of the way, why not bookmark the blog page (www.lagalaxy.com/insider), follow the twitter account (@LAGalaxyInsider) and let’s get started.
