CARSON, Calif. (Saturday, July 21, 2012) – After arriving in Los Angeles earlier today. English Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur have announced the roster for the first portion of their U.S. Tour, which begins with a friendly against the LA Galaxy at The Home Depot Center on Tuesday, July 24. Tottenham head coach Andre Villas-Boas, who was named the club’s new manager earlier this month, has brought a squad of 24 players to Southern California for Tuesday’s game, which will be the first-ever meeting between the two sides. After finishing fourth in the Premier League last season, equaling their best-ever finish, and qualifying for the Europa League, Tottenham opened their preseason schedule on Wednesday, beating Stevenage 2-0 with new signing Gylfi Sigurdsson scoring one of the goals.

The Icelandic international is one of the many stars that Villas-Boas will have at his disposal against the Galaxy. He will be joined by fellow recent signing Jan Vertonghen, as well as star Dutch midfielder Rafael Van der Vaart, Welsh international Gareth Bale, England internationals Michael Dawson, the club’s captain, Jermain Defoe, Aaron Lennon and former U.S. National Team goalkeeper Brad Friedel

Tuesday’s game, which is presented by Pechanga Resort and Casino, kicks off at 7:30 p.m. and limited tickets are still available starting at $40. For more information about this game, or to purchase tickets, please visit lagalaxy.com/tottenham or call 877-342-5299
