ASSIST ADDED: Major League Soccer added an assist for Marcelo Sarvas on the Galaxy’s second goal in Saturday night’s 2-0 win over Sporting Kansas City. Robbie Keane had originally been credited with the only assist on the goal, collecting an outlet pass from Sarvas just inside the LA half of the field before outrunning the Sporting defense and laying a pass across the face of goal for Landon Donovan to tap home.

The assist was Sarvas’ second of the season, matching his total from all of last year, and his fourth since joining the Galaxy before the start of the 2012 campaign. He scored the Galaxy’s first goal of that game, also his first of the season, finishing off a pass from Donovan, meaning that each player finished the night with a goal and an assist.

DONOVAN NOMINATED FOR GOAL OF THE WEEK: Landon Donovan’s second half goal against Sporting Kansas City has been nominated for the MLS Goal of the Week award. Donovan is the second Galaxy player to be up for the award this season after Jose Villarreal was nominated for his stoppage time goal at Toronto FC on March 30.
