Summer of Soccer Coming to Southern California

CARSON, Calif. (Wednesday, June 12, 2013) – A Summer of Soccer is returning to Southern California as the LA Galaxy continue their quest for an unprecedented third straight MLS Cup championship while also preparing to take on top international teams from Europe and Central America. To kick off the Summer of Soccer, which is presented by the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, the Galaxy are offering two special ticket plans that will allow fans to purchase tickets to six exciting games starting at less than $100.

Fans who select the Early Summer Plan will receive tickets to the annual Fourth of July fireworks extravaganza against the Columbus Crew, the August 31 showdown with Northern California rivals, the San Jose Earthquakes, and a game of their choice as well as tickets to the Guinness International Champions Cup doubleheader at Dodger Stadium on Saturday, August 3. Additionally, fans will who purchase this plan before July 4 will also receive a complimentary ticket to the Galaxy’s home game against FC Dallas on Sunday, July 7, before which the first 10,000 fans to enter the stadium will receive an Omar Gonzalez bobblehead as well as two child’s passes per purchase to the Natural History Museum.


Fans who select the Late Summer Plan will receive tickets to the Dodger Stadium doubleheader and the August 31 game against San Jose, which is Robbie Keane Bobblehead Night with the first 10,000 fans receiving a Robbie Keane bobblehead, as well as the September 21 match against Seattle Sounders FC and a match of their choice. Additionally, fans who purchase this package before July 20 will receive complimentary tickets to that night’s game against Vancouver Whitecaps FC as well as two child’s passes per purchase to the Natural History Museum.


Highlighting the Galaxy’s Summer of Soccer will be the club’s participation in a doubleheader at Dodger Stadium as part of the Guinness International Champions Cup on Saturday, August 3. This doubleheader, which will be the first-ever soccer games at the iconic home of Major League Baseball’s Los Angeles Dodgers, will feature the Galaxy, Everton, Juventus and Real Madrid with Madrid, the nine-time European champion, facing either Everton or Juventus at 5 p.m. and the Galaxy hosting the other at 7:30 p.m. that night. Tickets for this once-in-a-lifetime night of international soccer are not on sale yet to the general public, meaning that the best way to guarantee a seat to see the matches is to purchase a Summer of Soccer ticket pack or become a Galaxy Season Ticket Holder.

In addition to the exciting Dodger Stadium doubleheader on August 3, the Galaxy will continue their MLS regular season schedule throughout the summer at the newly-renamed StubHub Center, beginning with the club’s annual Fourth of July fireworks extravaganza against the Columbus Crew. In addition to that game, the Galaxy will also look to climb up the conference standings with home games against Western Conference rivals FC Dallas (July 7), Vancouver Whitecaps FC (July 20), Real Salt Lake (August 17) and the San Jose Earthquakes (August 31) before the start of September.
