CARSON, Calif. (Wednesday, July 3, 2013) – The LA Galaxy and Chevrolet have teamed up to encourage Galaxy fans to proudly express their passions while picking favorites between Galaxy forward Robbie Keane and defender Omar Gonzalez.
The first 20,000 fans who enter the stadium for Thursday night’s game against the Columbus Crew will receive a complimentary cardboard cutout of either Robbie Keane or Omar Gonzalez. The cutouts will be part of Chevrolet’s #galaxyfansdecide campaign, which will see fans encouraged to take photos of either “Flat Robbie” or “Flat Omar” and share them on social media by uploading them through Instagram (#galaxyfansdecide and #Robbie7 or #Omar4), Twitter (#galaxyfansdecide and #Robbie7 or #Omar4) or directly onto the “Galaxy Social Hub Connected by Chevrolet,” which can be found at www.lagalaxy.com/socialhub or www.lagalaxy.com/galaxyfansdecide.
Fans will have three pride-themed challenges with three separate chances to win. The first challenge’s theme, “Show your Galaxy Pride” encourages fans to flaunt their Galaxy gear and team pride by showing it off on social media with Flat Robbie or Flat Omar, beginning on Thursday, July 4, and continuing until Thursday, July 25. “Show your Hometown Pride” is the following theme that kicks off on Thursday, July 25, and runs until Thursday, August 15. Fans can snap some photos with Flat Robbie or Flat Omar while wearing their “hometown colors” or by personally parading the duo around town and uploading all the action. The final challenge, “Show your Pride!” encourages supporters to display what makes them most proud via Twitter and Instagram while standing behind either Flat Robbie or Omar. This portion of the contest begins on Thursday, August 15, and continues until its final day on Thursday, September 5.
The competition will close out with Keane and Gonzalez selecting their favorite photos from each of the three challenges at the end of the campaign. The six winners will each receive two suite tickets to the September 21 Galaxy game against Seattle Sounders FC with a meet and greet with Keane and Gonzalez following the match.
