CARSON, Calif. – Ever steadily, Carlo Cudicini is enjoying some of his best form since joining the LA Galaxy
Since Brian Rowe was given the start against Real Salt Lake on June 8, Cudicini has started the last seven matches while leading LA to a 4-2-1 record with 15 saves. In this interview for LAGalaxy.com, Cudicini admits that sitting during Real Salt Lake was one of the turning points in his season.
As he looks to continue his hot streak in Saturday’s match against the Colorado Rapids, Cudicini discusses his experience in the first half of the season and his transition to MLS.
“[When] you move from a new league, you don’t expect to travel as much— the longest flight you had in England was 45 minutes. [In the U.S.], you can fly six hours then you have to travel to Costa Rica, then come back, then go to New York. It can be hectic for a guy that’s never traveled that much in his career. You need to get used to certain things," said Cudicini. "Also in my last couple of seasons I haven’t played consistently, and when you arrive here and you have to play Wednesday, Saturday, Wednesday, Saturday.
“I was expecting more from me, like probably our coach and our supporters,” Cudicini added. "But in my career, when you commit yourself to what you want to do, then in the end, you always get results. Slowly, slowly we’re getting those results.”
